Fredericton, NB-All five of Speedway 660’s exciting racing divisions are back in action at 7PM on Saturday night. Fans will see intense racing rivalries as drivers try to rack up as many points as possible in their effort to chase down a championship.
The tightest title race is in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman Division. Greg Fahey, attempting to become the first driver ever to win championships in Speedway 660’s top three divisions, leads the points. The popular Charlotte County wheelman has a narrow four point edge over 16 year old Andrew Rodgers. The youngster from Smithtown holds a slim advantage over Brent Roy. Andrew’s brother Matt and Richard Atkinson sit fourth and fifth. Only 21 points separate the top five Sportsman drivers.
The DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Division is almost as tight as the Sportsman point race. Roger Slocum has a nine point edge over five time champ Rick Cashol. There are only 27 points separating the top five, which also includes Robert Raynes, rookie Luc MacLaughlin and Peter Martin.
The Westwood Estate Apartments Bandolero Division has Drew Greenlaw from Maine holding a slim four point cushion over the 2012 champ Cole Boudreau. Three girls are in pursuit of the two boys at the top of the standings. Alicia Mowatt, Alexandra O’Blenis and her sister Courtney, round out the top five in bando points. Just 35 points separate first and fifth.
Ira Farnell is atop the standings in the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter Division. Neil Miousse, Daniel Clark, Tyler Seveck and Randy Campbell all have their sights set on Farnell, because only 30 points separate first from fifth.
Dave O’Blenis, the defending RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock champ, has the biggest point lead heading into action this weekend. O’Blenis is 22 up on Derek Christie, but there are only 23 points between 2nd and 5th. Two-time champion Chris Duncan, Kevin Moore and Ken MacKenzie are third, fourth and fifth in pro stock points.
On Saturday night fans will see great action in all five divisions at Speedway 660. Street Stock, Sportsman and Pro Stock heat races gets underway at 7PM, but the Bando and Sharp Shooter heats run at 6:20. Adult ticket prices are $12 – Youth tickets, for kids between 8 and 15 years of age are $9 – the Family Pass for two adults and two youths is $40 dollars and admission is free for children under eight.
