The running of the 35th annual VT Foodbank Labor Day Classic 200 will set the stage for the ACT 2013 finale at Airborne Speedway at the end of September, just as it did one year ago.

Last year, Helliwell was on top of the standings heading into this event with a 22-point lead over eight-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar. Hoar claimed the Labor Day win to pull within eight points as they headed into the Airborne Fall Foliage finale. Helliwell ended up snagging the Fall Foliage win and the 2013 title in an epic last race battle.

Current runner-up, Polewarczyk will attempt to pull off a similar maneuver in this year’s Labor Day Classic. After a rough couple of races to begin the season, Polewarczyk has to be considered the hottest driver on the ACT Tour since. He has racked up 4 wins, including the non-point counting International 500 at Airborne, and he hasn’t finished outside the top five in the last eight events. During those eight events he has pocketed 6 podium finishes.

Hometown favorite Jimmy Hebert of Williamstown can’t be counted out of the title picture either. The former Thunder Road Tiger Sportsmen Champion has turned a lot of heads this year with his first career ACT win in the season opening Lee USA Speedway event. He has remained near the top of the standings all season and scored a second win at Sanair Super Speedway at the beginning of August. He sits just 48 points behind Helliwell.

The trio of ACT stars at the top of the standings will fight it out this Sunday, September 1 in the 35th Annual VT Foodbank Labor Day Classic 200 at Thunder Road in Barre, VT. Qualifying is set to begin at 1:30pm. The 200-lap feature will set the stage for the Fall Foliage 200 season finale at Airborne Speedway on Saturday, September 28.
