Oxford, ME – DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM Racing team started their season off strong two weeks ago with a big win down south in the “Easter Bunny 150” at Hickory Motor Speedway and were able to follow that up with a strong run in the Pro All Stars Series North season opener this past weekend. Shaw fought up front all day and came home with a hard earned third place finish at Oxford Plains Speedway. The race was delayed a day and took the duration of Sunday to run due to constant rain in the area.

“I have to thank PASS and the Oxford Plains staff for doing what they could to get this race in tonight, I think we had a car to win,” Shaw said after the race, “We were just riding for most of that race waiting for the end but we couldn’t get the right moves through traffic, but we had a great car and I’m happy to bring it home in third to start the season.”
After driving away with the heat race win, Shaw would start on the pole of the 150 lap feature event. The team would have to wait a few hours though before they were able to see the green flag, as it rained throughout the afternoon. Once the rain cleared though, the pack of 35 hungry Super Late Model drivers took to the track. In what was a mad dash for the front at the beginning of the race, Shaw fell back to 5th position, but kept his car in contention in the top five throughout the event. A late race caution on lap 120 tightened the pack back up with Shaw in the second spot behind race leader Richie Dearborn. On the restart, Shaw battled hard with eventual race winner Travis Benjamin as the two traded paint for several laps. It was a thrilling battle for the win and in the end DJ Shaw crossed the line in the third position.
The Precision JLM Racing team is back in action next weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the “Southern Maine Motors 150.” Shaw is the defending winner of the event and is looking to get back to victory lane at a track he knows very well. The teams will practice all day Friday with the racing kicking off on Saturday, May 3rd at 3:00PM.
