DJ Shaw Grabs Third Win of Season in Canada!
Vallee-Jonction, Quebec – DJ Shaw continued his early season dominance this past weekend, as he took home his third win of the season in the Frameco 150 at Autodrome Chaudiere. The fifth race on the Pro All Stars Series North schedule saw Shaw battle hard once again with Johnny Clark for the top spot throughout the event. At the end though, Shaw was able to get the lead and pull away in a brand new #60 Precision JLM Chevrolet to take home the win in Canada!
“Everything is working for us well this season,” Shaw said after the win, “it’s even more gratifying to take a brand new car here and win with it, most of the time you have to work the bugs out of a new car, but this is the second car that’s come directly from our shop to Victory Lane in the past year, that’s even more special.”
After once again getting delayed a day due to rain in the area, DJ Shaw and the 60 Precision JLM team took to the track on Sunday morning, and knew from the start they had a good piece underneath them. After driving to finish third in his heat race, DJ Shaw started the 150 lap feature event from the 11th position.
From the beginning of the race, DJ worked his way through the field methodically as he picked off one after another on his way to the front of the field around the tight oval. On lap 110, the lead was Shaw’s as he got around Johnny Clark. It all looked to be going Shaw’s way until a caution flew with nine laps to go, bringing the race leaders close once again. Clark was able to hold on the outside of Shaw after the restart, until another caution flag slowed the field with four laps to go. On this restart, Shaw was able to get the better hand, as he opened up a six car length lead on his way to the victory!
With his second win on the PASS North Series this season, Shaw was able to open up his point’s lead. The team is hoping to keep rolling on their wave of momentum next weekend as the Series heads to Shaw’s home track, White Mountain Motorsports Park. He has plenty of experience at the track and the wins to back it up, as he looks for win number four of 2014 this Saturday, May 24th. The racing action kicks off this Saturday at 1:00PM.
