16-year old Reid Lanpher of Manchester has wrapped up his 2014 racing season. The Maranacook High School Junior recently attended his first NASCAR Whelen All American Series banquet where he was honored as Rookie of The Year and for his 2nd place finish in points for the Pro-Division.

Lanpher’s on track activity wrapped up at the World Series at Thompson Motor Speedway in Thompson, CT. This was the young drivers first time on a 5/8th mile track and despite only getting three five minute practice sessions, Lanpher finished day one as the 3rd fastest super late model car there. Day two saw Lanpher run the high line around the track to win his heat race by a straight away. Day three was race day and Lanpher started from the 4th position where he remained until lap 25 when he brought the EJP Racing Chevrolet to pit lane. He informed crew chief Jason Ricker that he had no brakes and parked the car. The team was pleased with the first trip to a larger track and plans on returning for the Ice Breaker in April 2015.

Off the track Lanpher was a member of the Maranacook Soccer Team that won its 2nd straight State Championship.

Lanpher plans to run selected Super Late Model and Pro Stock races throughout North America in 2015.
