Robby Gordon Douglas from Derry , NH will be back behind the wheel of the #27 car in the Pro Wraps Bandolero Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “My plans are to run a full season at NHMS as well as visit Charlotte Motor Speedway for as many as 4 of the Summer Shootout Series races. I also plan to race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, hopefully Star Speedway. Also I will run my new truck in the Kid’s Truck division at White Mountain Motor Sports Park . Finally, I plan to run for wins.”
There is no off season when comes to racing, “I have been playing soccer for my school and a premier travel team for the town of Derry , practice different tracks on Iracing, and video games as well as visiting Maine Indoor Karting and working in the garage. I have been working towards my Eagle badge in Boy Scouts; at this point I am a Life scout. Also, I have been preparing to become a freshman at Pinkerton High School. I have also been working on my Second Degree Black belt in Kempo karate that I will receive in the fall.”
Sponsors are big part of racing; they sponsor the race teams, the race tracks and the races. So though out the year the race teams are looking to renew their sponsors and finding new one. “We are looking into an Amsoil sponsorship for this season. We are in negotiations with MCD Satellite. But at this time we are out of pocket.”
The bando race teams are looking forward to seeing the 2015 racing schedule at NHMS, “I would definitely like to race more and go for a National Championship from my home track but we plan to travel to get the remaining races in.”
With a 4th place finish in the points last season with a total of 8 top 3 finishes out of 12 feature race Robby looks to win the 2015 Pro Wraps Bandolero Championship. “This is my last season in bandoleros and I will race hard and I am confident that this year will be our best chance for winning and for a championship. My team, family, and I deserve it.”
Along with the mini oval NHMS is also home to a 1.6 mile road course with long straightaways, hills, and hair pin turns, which the motorcycles and legend cars race on. “I think if it was figured out a way that we won’t blow our motors or burn up our clutches, it would be a great experience for me and my competitors.”
The mini oval at NHMS is a unique D shape with a flat front stretch and a high banked backed stretch “Braking points. If you want to get around NHMS quickly pick the right braking and throttle points. In turn one you have to get it just right or you’re going to hit the bumps wrong and that transition from flat to banking is going to be ugly.”
The one thing the bando drivers would like to see at NHMS is the stars in the sky and the bright lights around the track. “Light ’em up! Bring out the lights and I guarantee that every race will be a great show that will draw in fans.”
