The Benjamin Motorsports team headed across the border this past weekend and raced in Valle Junction Quebec. The team was looking to turn it season around and need a good run. In the first practice the team would have to go to work because of an engine issues. The team found a broken rocker in the cylinder head and it would take all day to get it fixed and the team would have to miss all the practice and qualifying races. That meant the 17 car would start in the 21st position for the 150 lap feature.
At the start of the feature the car was pretty good and it didn’t take long to get into the top 15. At the half way mark Travis had gotten into the top 10. With 50 laps to go Travis was in the top 5 and battling for 4th. A late race restart while running 5th, Travis would have to back down becasue the car running 3rd had engine issues and drop the team back to the 8th position. Travis worked his way into 7th and was still battling for a top 5 when the checkered flags flew. “For all the issues we had today I’m very happy with a 7th place finish. One of these days we are going to get everything together and we will be tough to beat I think. The crew really worked hard today to get this car back together.” Travis said after the race.
This weekend Travis and the Benjamin Motorsports team will be back in action at Thunder Road in Barre Vermont.
