Speedway 95 News Release 05-23-15 by visiting Bill Butler (Thank You for helping us out)
(Hermon, Me) I was a full night of racing at Speedway 95 Saturday, as two visiting divisions, the Wicked Good Racing Association, and the Outlaws Super Series added to the regular racing at Speedway 95 on Saturday.
In the visiting Outlaws Super Series Ricky Burgess seem the car to beat, after taking the lead at lap 10, and holding on tightly until lap 36 when mechanical issues with his ride drew and the caution and took him out of contention for the win. Kris Watson of Hermon, looking to extend his season long streak worked his way up the field from near the rear at the start to 2nd place when the caution flag flew at lap 42. Outlaws race director had a bounty of $100 extra dollars to whomever broke that streak and Joey Doyon of Winterport took up the challenge, crossing the line first for the win, with Watson in second. Kris Matchett of Skowhegan finished third.
In the Dysart’s Late Model division Brenton Parritt of Steuben was looking for a win to make up for last week last lap change-up but was unable to overtake John Curtis, Jr. of Hermon for the top spot despite spending a majority of the race side-by-side for that top spot. Last week’s feature winner Deane Smart of Bradley finished third.
After winning the qualifier, Frankin’s Greg Pung was looking at the win in the Street Division when mechanical issues forced his car off the track at lap 19. With the restart, Zack Audet of Skowhegan moved into the top spot taking the win, by just a hair over Asa Jones of Sullivan. Brad Norris of Ellsworth crossed the line for third.
The Coca Cola Company Sport Four saw Andrew Crosby continue his season long winning streak, taking the top spot away from Jeremy Scott of Carmel. The race had a single stop at lap 16 for a flipped car in the backstretch but otherwise remained caution free. Dustin Durrell of Newburgh finished third.
Wicked Good Vintage Racecar Association had two feature races, the first had just a single caution with Keith Smalley taking the win, and the second feature suffered from 5 cautions with Tim Reynolds earning the top spot.
