Hermon, ME – After a few weeks off, the Precision JLM Racing team with DJ Shaw behind the wheel traveled to Speedway 95 near Bangor, Maine for the sixth Pro All Stars Series North race of the season. Shaw lead the race early and continued his strong season with a third place finish in front of a packed crowd at the 1/3rd mile track.
“We had a really good car today, but Mike (Rowe) was really good on that long run we had and we couldn’t get back by him at the end,” said Shaw after the race, “There was definitely a lot of side by side racing all day long, we had fun and I’m happy to leave here with a good result.”
Shaw started in the third spot and captured the win in his heat race, giving him the pole position for the 150 lap feature event. Shaw gave up the lead early to Glen Luce, but after a few laps regained it back as he tried to hold off the charge from Mike Rowe behind him. The two drivers battled each other hard, but Rowe was able to get by on lap 39 as Shaw settled in to second trying to save his tires for a run at the finish. The race went caution free for a long stretch before a yellow flag came out with just 20 laps to go. Shaw mounted a few charges on the ensuing restarts, and was nose to nose with Rowe until the final caution flew with just ten laps to go. On the final restart, Cassius Clark was able to get by Shaw, as he settled for a third place as the checkered flag flew.
Shaw now sits second in the PASS North Series points behind winner Mike Rowe. The next race for the team will be this weekend as they travel north once again to the Autodrome Chaudiere in Valee-Junction, Quebec for the “Habitations Dany Lagace 150.” Shaw is looking to improve on the teams ninth place finish the last time they raced there a month ago. The racing kicks off at 5:00PM, we hope to see you at the track this weekend!
