Cassius Clark Wins Prestigious Atlantic Cat 250

(Halifax, NS, August 8th, 2015) – Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME) captured his record tying third career Atlantic Cat 250 title Saturday at Scotia Speedworld. Clark won a rain shortened event after weather moved in for good at Lap 160. Clark dominated the event, leading 146 of the completed 160 laps. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) came across the stripe in second with Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) coming home in third. Daryl Mahar (Hubley, NS) led early in the event from the outside pole and would finish fourth, ahead of new point leader and 2014 Atlantic Cat 250 titlist Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS).

Clark won Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials with a lap 14.218 seconds. Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) won the King Freight Dash for Cash. Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) and Cale Gale (Mobile, AL) won their respective Dartmouth Dodge heat races. Clark also took home the $1000 cash award for leading halfway. DJ Casey (Prospect, NS) was the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race with a 20th place finish. Gale accepted the Atlantic Tiltload Pole Challenge but could only muster a 17th place finish after starting last in the 23 car field.

Prior to the Atlantic Cat 250 the Hydraulics Plus Bandits and Outlaws raced 20 lap features; Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS) took home the Bandit win, Wyatt McCulloch (Stewiacke, NS) won the Outlaw feature. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) took top spot in The Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Scotia Tire 50.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is off next weekend but returns to Petty International Raceway on August 22nd for a 150-lap main event in the final stop for the series in 2015 in the province of New Brunswick.
