NEMST1On the heels of the first King of the Mini Stocks event at the North South Shootout in Concord, NC a new series in gaining traction in the southeast United States. The South East Mini Stock Tour (SEMST) is a vision of Bob Guptill, promoter and founder of the North East Mini Stock Tour (NEMST) a series that runs on tracks all over New England with exciting finishes and large car counts.

The SEMST will hold its first sanctioned events in 2016 with 5 races to be scheduled. The series will be built with multiple types of cars in mind. Much like its northern counterpart the SEMST will feature front wheel drive and rear wheel drive competitors on track at the same time in this outlaw type series. Focusing on tracks within central North Carolina and Southern Virginia the series will visit 5 different venues in 2016.

The series will allow any 7 inch treaded tire with a minimum durometer of 55 points. The series will sell Hoosier 800 tires which fit the established rule well. A full rule book will be posted within the coming weeks and any questions can be emailed within that time period. The cars will feature the availability of coilovers, racing wheels, and a variety of engine options to keep all cars equal.

A point fund will be available to the top 10 cars at year end with total amounts and sponsors to be announced shortly. Races will be 50 laps in length and feature a payout for all cars that start the feature event. The full payout will be posted alongside the rules as well as special increased pay events.

The first race for the series will be March 26th at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC with the Pro All Stars Series 11th annual Easter Bunny 150. Additional races will be held throughout the season with a Labor Day race at Franklin County Speedway and the season ending event at the North South Shootout in Concord, NC.
