Story by Chris Roy

Joey Doyon of Winterport, ME will be racing the#38 in the Late Model Series at Wiscasset Speedway this season. Joey use to race pro-stocks at Maines Fast Track in his early race days and, finished 4th last season in the Coastal 200.

Keeping busy in the off season Joey has been getting the car ready in the garage and doing some ice fishing.

Running the full schedule at Wiscasset this season and, a limited schedules at Unity Raceway and Speedway 95 in the late model as well as a few Sportsman races at Speedway 95.  One good reason for Joey to race at Wiscasset is, “It’ll be a lot easier for my parents, and my nephew Trey Brown races there. Now they can watch both of us.”

Racing at 3 different race tracks Wiscasset, Unity, and Speedway 95, a lot of work goes into changing the race setup for the different race tracks.  Luckily Joey has  had some help with that, “Distance Racing had it setup great last season, basically just had to change tires.”

There is a possibility that Joey may run the 250 at OPS but the team will have to work on setting the car up from LM to SLM. “If we go to Oxford 250 it’ll be Super Late Model, It’s a long shot, we have to see how the car is going.”

One thing the drivers are doing in the off season is lining up sponsors for the race team. Joey would like to thank his sponsors, Paradise Point Camps, Code 99, Coops Transport, Linscott Motorsports, Mckee Energy and, Dave’s World Sand and Gravel.

Joey to give a shot out to the fans about the upcoming race season,  “Thank you for all the support. Like seeing all the Junkyard Joe shirts at the track.”
