Story by Chris Roy
Kyle Kramlich, of Scarborough,ME. has been expanded his mind studying Automotive Engineering at Ferris State University, in Michigan. Though race season is almost here and, Kyle is starting a new adventure this race season, moving up into the Sports Series at the Ridge. “Our plans are to run full time in the Sports Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. I do not have any experience in this series but, I’ve talked to people about it and what to feel for. I don’t plan to go set the world on fire so, I plan on starting in back and trying to learn this car and just get seat time.”
There are a number of different racing series here at the short tracks in New England but, Kyle decide to race in the Sports Series at the ridge. “I felt like it would be a good challenge to get into a different type of car compared to a Mad bomber. I felt like I had got a good experience with the good and bad things that come with racing and was ready to move up. I wanted the challenge that came with it so I could push myself to a higher level of racing. I know it will be a whole new animal driving this car but, I’m really excited for it.”
With a win at the Ridge and finishing the season 7th in points Kyle know how to get around BRMS. “From My own racing experience, what I’ve learned from my dad, and working on a Pro Series car the last few years. I’d say you have to roll the center to keep your momentum up and be able to get back to the gas to get off the corner.”
Every race track has its pro’s and con’s including the Ridge. “I really like how technically the track is for a driver. It’s not about the big motors and big money racers that have the best of the best. It’s all about the set up and keeping the momentum. If you can’t do that, to me it doesn’t matter how much motor you have set up is key. I would say that my one dislike is more from Thursday Thunder where we couldn’t buy tires until after the first practice.”
Kyle would like to thank his sponsors for the 2017 race season. “I do have sponsor lined up for 2017. – Health Coaches Inc., Pape Chevrolet, Black Point Auto, The study Hall, Dean G. Tourigny D.DS., PA. General Dentistry, Team Cosmo, Zinck’s Landscaping. Their support is appreciated so much by not just me but the whole team. Always could use more if anyone knows a business or has a business that would like to get their name on a race car. It’s a great way to advertise to a good crowd each week.”
