Bryan Searles of Presque Isle, Maine is one of the new rising stars in the Richmond Karting Speedway “XXX” Series.  In the first night race of the season Bryan got his first career win at RKS, “It felt good. I had to really work for that one because everyone is so competitive there.”

On Friday night July 28th the drivers will return to RKS for race number 2, in the “XXX” series, to once again race under the lights. “It’s fun to drive under the lights. It’s not as hot. The night race is cooler and the day race is much hotter. My kart handles better in the night time. ”

The race teams have been working all week to get ready for Friday night under the lights. So is the Bryan ready for another win?  “Yes I am! I’m going to try hard to win again. I need to be faster!”

Bryan has raced at a number of tracks across New England so how does RKS compare to some of these other great race tracks?  “It’s smoother at RKS and bigger. Gives me more room to speed up. It’s my favorite track to drive. It’s much more competitive so it’s like much more fun. I get more experience to learn in case I want to drive NASCAR.”

A lot of young drivers also turn a wrench and work on the race karts as well. “Yeah a little but it’s boring when they make me sit in the kart on the scales.”
