Barre, Vt. – Thunder Road officials and Burnett Scrap Metals, LLC announced today that they have reached an agreement for the company to become the title sponsor of the Road Warrior division. The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors will make their season debut on Thursday, July 20 as part of Fairpoint Communications Night.

New team registrations are arriving on a regular basis for the entry-level division, which will be for four-cylinder front wheel drive stock cars. The revived division previously competed at Thunder Road from 2003 to 2011 under the “Junkyard Warriors” name.

“Burnett Scrap Metals is very excited to be part of the return of the Warriors to Thunder Road,” Christopher Burnett said. “The first car we sponsored at Thunder Road was a Warrior.  This division is a great place for people to get started in racing with very little money or time invested.”

Burnett Scrap Metals is a state-licensed metal recycling facility in Hinesburg, Vt. that purchases all of unwanted ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal. Commercial, industrial, and residential customers can bring their scrap metal directly to the company’s facilities or arrange to have a roll-off container dropped off at their site.  They are the largest metal recycling facility in Chittenden County and service most of Vermont and Northern New York.
