LEE, N.H. — The Lance Davis Memorial Sportsman Late Model 50-lap feature race highlights this Friday night’s 13-race program here at Lee USA Speedway.

A hot 2017 point championship battle sets the stage for the Davis Memorial event which began in 2003 after the sportsman driver died at 42 from a heart attack.

 

Bryan Kruczek, driving the Brian House No.88 from Haverhill, leads the current point standings with 555 but Frankie Eldredge, of Stratham, N.H., trails by just five points. Kris Miller, Bedford, N.H., is third only eight points off the lead. Jay Sands, Hampton, N.H. is fourth with 537 and Jimmy Russell,  Exeter, N.H., rounds out the top five at 524.

Along with prize money, the top 10 finishers in the Davis Memorial also will win special trophies donated by Luc Tanguay who raced with Davis for years.

 

The Ironman Division will run two 25-lap feature races as part of Friday’s full program. Hobby Stocks will have a 25-lap main event while

the super-modifieds will run a 30-lap feature. All divisions will run 10-lap qualifying heats.

 

Dave Helliwell, of Salem, N.H., leads the super-modified point standings in the Witkum Brothers No.21 with 498. Leslie Keyser, fresh off his 40-lap $4,000 win in the “Super Shootout”, is second with 457 while John Burke, of” Derry, N.H., is third in his new winged No.01 super-mod. Others in Friday night’s super-modified lineup include Mike Keddy, of Raymond, N.H.,

Moe Lattime, in the Dick Osborne No.59 from Kingston, N.H., and Haverhill’s Tommy Tombarello.

 

Fans also will have a chance to race with their own cars on Friday. The “Spectator Drags” allow spectators to compete in two-lap events with the final race being five laps to the checkered flag. Fans must~Bse approved
safety helmets and seatbelts.

 

The first Ironman feature opens Friday’s program at 7 p.m.
