BUTCHER WINS SEASON OPENER LUCAS OIL 150 AT PETTY INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
(Moncton, NB – May 25, 2019) – Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) recorded his first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour victory of 2019 by winning the Lucas Oil 150 on Saturday evening at Petty International Raceway. Ashton Tucker (Miramichi, NB) showed the field he can compete finishing second in his Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour feature debut. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) had a mishap early in the race but rallied back to finish third. Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) and Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) completed the top five.
Three Atlantic Tiltload heat races kicked-off an action packed night of racing in front of a capacity crowd. Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE), Chris Hughes (Brackley Beach, PE) and Tucker all picked up wins in the 10 lap qualifying heats. Tucker also receives the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race. Hall takes home the Kenny U-Pull Hard Charger award. The race was slowed by 12 caution periods and took one hour and 40 minutes to complete.
Prior to the Lucas Oil 150 three opening classes took to the track. Dave Matthews (Nine Mile River, NS) won the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour 60 lap feature. Mike Duskey (Albany, PE) won the Street Stock 50 lap event, while Marcel LeBlanc (Bouctouche, NB) picked up his first ever Sportsman win in the 60 lap A.E. McKay Builders Sportsman race.
The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour heads to Scotia Speedworld next Saturday, June 1st for the Cummins 150! Grandstands open at 1:00pm with Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races getting underway at 4:00pm. Adult tickets for the Cummins 150 are $25.00 for adults, $8.00 for youth (8-15 yrs.), seven and under are admitted for free. Pit admission is $30.00.
