(Halifax, NS, June 26, 2013) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is headed to Petty International Raceway this Saturday for the Lucas Oil 150. The 150-lap stock car event marks round four of 12 for the popular regional touring series. Approximately 28 teams from across the Maritimes are expected for Saturday’s event. Qualifying for the Lucas Oil 150 will take place at 5:10 PM with Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials, feature racing is slated for 6:00 PM. Tickets for the Lucas Oil 150 will be available at the gate on race day.
One week ago at Scotia Speedworld, it was John Flemming of Halifax, Nova Scotia taking home his second victory of the season in the Lockhart Truck Center 150. Flemming was challenged at the end of the race by defending series champion Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS), who happens to be the most recent Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour winner at Petty International Raceway, Turple won the Irving Max 150 last August. Both drivers were fast in practice on June 1st when the series attempted to race the Fast Eddie Racewear 100 at Petty Raceway but due to inclement weather, that event was postponed until July 13th.
While Flemming leads the point standings with Turple chasing in second, the battle for third is beginning to heat up! Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) leads sophomore Brad Eddy (Lower Sackville, NS) by a slim eight point margin with Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) completing the top five in the championship points picture. Third through eleventh are only separated by 18 points heading into this Saturday’s Lucas Oil 150.
Mister Transmission Mini Stocks and Leisure Days RV Bandolero Twin 25’s will race on the undercard prior to the Lucas Oil 150. Admission for the Lucas Oil 150 is $25.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth (8-18 years old); pit admission is $30.00. Children 7 and under are admitted for free.
