Taylor Lane of Phillips, ME.  is ready for the 2017 race season Four cylinder pro stocks at Wiscasset Speedway and the Mini Cups at Richmond Karting Speedway.

Taylor has been keeping busy waiting for the snow to melt, “During the off season I’ve been keeping busy playing basketball for my school, plenty of school work, hanging out with friends, and putting on fundraisers with the Leos club that I am a part of.”

The 2017 race season is almost here and Taylor is ready for the green flag. “In the 2017 race season I plan to just have fun in the mini cup, but in the four cylinder I want to be more competitive than last year. I feel like I can be a front running car this year.”

One thing that keeps the race team busy in the off season is getting ready for the next race season. “The four cylinder is almost ready, just a few simple things to finish. The mini cup on the other hand hasn’t been taken out of the trailer. We parked it out back and now we can’t get it out because of the snow. That needs some work because of last race wrecks.”

Once again Taylor is racing at 2 different series at 2 different tracks. “Racing at two different tracks in two different cars, isn’t quite as bad as it sounds…until you have a double header weekend. We live so far from the tracks that we don’t get much sleep on those weekends. But if nothing extreme happens to either car it’s pretty simple. Still lots of money though.”

Since the Jordan’s have purchased Wiscasset Speedway, they have continually made improvements to the track. “I absolutely love what they’re doing to Wiscasset Speedway! The work they had done last year to make the track smoother was amazing. I believe everything they are doing will make the racing more exciting and bring in more fans.”

A lot of drivers have had success at Wiscasset, so what is the key to getting around Maines Fastest Track? “The inside of the track is the shortest way around but the fastest is the outside. If you’re brave enough to go to the outside, you’ll go places. I’m still trying to get the hang of it myself.”

Last season Taylor finished 8th in points so is this the season that she will win the 2017 N.E. 4-cyl Pro Championship at Wiscasset.  “As much as I would love to say yes, I don’t think so. I’d like to think I could be tough competition anyway!”

Taylor would like to thank her race sponsors– Brewer Logging,  and Slicks Welding.
