John Peters of Westbrook, ME  will be back the wheel of the #51 car at BRMS to race in the Pro Series  “I’ve spent the off season in my second year of Business Administration studies at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. After Christmas, my girlfriend and I went to Hawaii to visit my sister’s family and soak up every last ounce of sunshine before getting greeted with plenty of snow… This week my Dad and I have accomplished quite a bit getting the car ready for the season. Truth be told, it wouldn’t be possible for me to do this without him. He’s allowed me the opportunity to really focus on school in the off season when I can’t be in the garage to help him. It’s always nice to be home and working on the car with him.”

The BRMS race season is almost here, as the green flag will fly on April 29th for the Pro ALL Stars Series (PASS) race.  “In the next couple of weeks we should be ready to go. We’re going to start out the season at Oxford Plains Speedway with the Pro All Stars Series on April 22nd. From there it’s full focus on our weekly program at Beech Ridge.”

John finishing in the top 10 in points last season, “Last season certainly had its ups and downs, but finishing 8th in the season standings was a solid accomplishment for us. I made it a personal goal at the beginning of the season to win 1 race and finish in the top-10 in points, and while for a long period of time those goals looked unattainable, it felt great to make both of those become a reality. We’re excited to get started this year.”

Coming on strong at the end of last season with his 1st career win at BRMS. “To date, that was the best moment of my racing career. I’ve dreamed about winning a premier series race at Beech Ridge since my first memories at the track watching my Dad race. I’ve always felt a strong pull to the track because of my roots and to actually make my biggest dream happen was indescribable. We had finished 2nd the week before, so we knew we had a good chance to bring it home that week, but Steve Carrier kept the pressure on me for all 40 laps and raced me as well as I could have hoped. That was a great moment for me, our family and team.”

With a 8th place finish in the points, can John win the 2017 Championship at BRMS? “Winning the championship is certainly not out of the realm of possibility for us. Beyond winning a race, that’s certainly the next item to knock off the bucket list but it’s incredibly difficult to do, especially in the Pro Series, so we’re not making it a be-all-end-all. At the end of the day, we’d like to make a run at it and see what happens.”

What do you think of a Pro Stock doing a Road course race through the streets of Portland? “That would certainly be interesting. I suppose I’ve never thought about doing that but it seems like it would be a blast. I’ve always wanted to get on a road course so I just might have to look into that one.”
