Picture perfect weather greeted the fans and competitors at White Mountain Motorsports Park for HK Powersports Opening weekend. Over 100 cars filled the pit area for Saturday’s car show and season-starter while the Pro All Stars Series invasion on Sunday afternoon put an exclamation mark on a showstopping start to the 2026 season.

It all began Saturday with a moment to reflect on the loss of track builder and founder Donnie Avery with all cars on display to mark the moment. Racing action started off hot and heavy with the Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division as Gracen Gorham, Maddie Potter, Evan Folsom and Kaden Wimble fought under a blanket nearly all 15 laps! Gorham slid by Potter in the closing laps to claim the win with Wimble keeping third.

The Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Strictly Minis opened the flood-gates to start the feature with Jacob Roy, Donnie Baumgardner and Tyler Thompson duking out for the top spot. At the halfway point Thompson flew out of the groove and into the turn one concrete, drove back the pit area and called it a night. Jacob Roy capitalized late to take the HK Powersports Opening Day win over Baumgardner and John Knight at the line.

The 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Models were twenty-four strong to kick off the year with a great battle between up-and-comers Colin Cornell and Thomas Smithers VI throughout the race. Early contact between Keegan Lamson and Kasey Beattie sent both to the rear with Beattie working his way back up through. Meanwhile at the front, veteran Mike ‘Beetle’ Bailey joined the chat, fending off both Cornell and Smithers even as another youngster, Hayden Bushey began to show his face among the top-five runners. Beetle Bailey would take the 50-lap win in the end over Cornell and Smithers.

Defending champ Jason Wyman blew up through a stout Caulder Construction Dwarf Car field to keep after his winning ways over heat-race dominator Ethan Tyyrell and Jeff Ainsworth. The NELCAR Tour Legends and Bandoleros made their first stop of the season with David Stone III taking the Legends feature and young Andrew Coty dominating the Bandoleros.

The ACT Twin-State Flying Tiger Series kicked off The Farmyard Store Flying Tiger season at White Mountain with twenty-nine cars making the start on HK Powersports Saturday. Kevin Streeter led the early goings before outside polesitter John Donahue jumped pitside with flames flowing out from under the hood to end his night early. At the front a gaggle of rookies and veterans ran side-by-side before Chandler Potter took control at the halfway mark. Potter kept it lean and green out front capturing his first White Mountain Motorsports Park win in some time over a hard-charging Brendan Moodie and car-show winner Kyle Willis.

Sunday started with the crowd viewing an absolutely dominant race for Dan Bowes in the NESS Supermodified feature until defending champ Jeffrey Battle made his presence known. After working up from an eighth-place starting spot, Battle took the lead on lap 44 to win the 50-lap start of the season for the traveling Supermodified series with Bowes and Matt Swanson closing out the podium.

Steve Dickey, Jr. took off with the lead to start Sunday’s PASS Modified feature with Bill Penfold and Spencer Morse in hot pursuit. Dixon fell out with a lap 18 dust-up in turn four and from then on it was all Steve Dickey, Jr. with the 50-lap win over Morse and Bobby Segar, Jr. at the line.

Johnny Clark and Joey Doiron seemed content to pace the field at the beginning of the PASS Spring Spectacular 150, knocking laps off the board to save their stuff for the end. Doiron would be the first to move, motoring to the outside and leading by lap 30 with Clark holding tight behind him. A pair of early spins for Pat Corbett and Angelo Belsito closed the field up for a chance but it was a restart dust-up with Alexendre Tardif that saw Johnny Clark in the spin-cycle with 100 laps to go. In one of the strangest events of late, Renfrew would spin all alone in turn two after the ailing Garrett Hall machine dropped oil in the corner, bringing out the caution on lap 148. The green-white-checker brought a final duel between Trevor Sanborn, Clark and the rest of the field with Sanborn taking the win over Johnny Clark and Angelo Belisto.

White Mountain’s newest class closed out HK Powersports Opening Weekend with a thirty-lap feature for the fourteen cars who made the starting grid. The battle was on from the drop of the green between Frank Sweeney and Zack Davis with the two duking it out. Karson Hewins brought out the lone yellow during the popular feature event with Sweeney barely edging Davis for the win and Saturday Night’s Oxford Plains Speedway winner Spencer Moore taking home third.

White Mountain Motorsports Park is back in action with track championship racing this Saturday, May 23 with the Spring Board 100 for the 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Models. Round One in the Wall’s Ford Platinum Series begins in earnest alongside the Farmyard Store Flying Tigers, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Strictly Minis, Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division and Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models with a 6:00pm Post Time!
