NAPLES ME ( August 10, 2008)  The Toyota Tundra 250 at Wiscasset (ME) Raceway is just a week away, and the short track racing extravaganza at Doug and Becky Whites’ coastal oval promises to serve up a day of racing that’s  guaranteed to satisfy any race fans’ need for speed.

Of course the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Toyota Tundra 250 headlines the action; there’s a hefty $30,000.00 check waiting in victory lane for the winner. It’s the biggest guaranteed race winner’s pay out for full fendered short track racers in the northeast and the field for that one will be full of track champions, short track legends, and the fastest short track cars and superstars from North Carolina to Canada.

There’s plenty of action leading up to Sunday’s big race  as both the PASS Mods and the Pluffybilt Racing Tractors PASS Sportsman divisions are on the under card. There’s two Sportsman features on tap, a 50 lap make up for a June Sportsman rainout at Wiscasset plus a 75 lap feature. It’s a big day of racing for the popular series, where Richie Morse leads Shane Tatro by just seven markers in the title chase.

The PASS Mods will do battle for 40 laps; Mark Lucas and Troy Morse have each chalked up a Wiscasset win this season, and Bill Dixon will be shooting for two in a row after a popular first win the last time out. Just two points separate point leader Tom Oliver from Gary Norris; Mark Lucas is only five back in third.

The heat will be on to make the show in the PASS Toyota Tundra 250 heat races. Only four cars will transfer and getting in the show early will take the pressure off those teams. But there are consolation rounds and a 50 lap last chance feature for those that don’t make the cut in the heats.

Sunday August 17 the pit gates swing open at 7:00 AM with practice getting underway at 9:00 AM. The first green flag will fly at 2:00 PM, and the Toyota Tundra 250 is tentatively scheduled for a 6:00 PM start.
