Beech Ridge Motor Speedway release

Scarborough,Maine- Recent inclement weather forced scheduling difficulties that saw Beech Ridge Motor Speedway hold a super show on Saturday night. The NASCAR Pro Series 100, The Budweiser Sport Series 100 and Wildcat 50 were all contested on the same night rounded out by a 20 lap Road Runner feature. The Pro Series took to the track first for the 100 lap grind. Dave Oliver who missed qualifying races due to major mechanical problems in the final afternoon practice session, started last on the 20 car grid. At the end of 100 laps Oliver stood in victory lane. Don Whitten paced the field for the opening 35 laps with Bill Rodgers and Aaron Ricker chasing. Whitten had his night end with mechanical failure while leading handing Rodgers the lead for lap 36. By this point of the race David Oliver had already worked his way to third place. Caution flag waving on lap 46 bunched the field up with Rodgers going back to the lead and Oliver moving to second. The deciding caution flag of the race came on lap 85 when Richie Dearborn and Dan McKeage got tangled up with each other. On the restart Oliver got the jump and stayed in front for the final 15 laps for the victory. Rodgers was second with Steve Berry third. Aaron Ricker and Dan McKeage were fourth and fifth. The Budweiser 100 for the Sport Series was up next and Don Colpritt withstood several challenges for the big win. Corey Bubar and Colpritt swapped the lead back and forth for the opening 14 laps until Colpritt took command one lap later. Caution flags on laps 18 and 60 were no problem for Colpritt to handle as he assumed the lead each restart. Things got interesting when a caution flag waved on lap 91 setting up a dash for cash with Colpritt, Kenny Harrison, Frank Wear and Don Morse. Colpritt took a slim lead but Harrison hung tough for a couple of laps before slipping back and the full grandstands watched Don Colpritt sail under the checkered flag for the win. Harrison was second with Morse getting third. Wear and Rob Herrick were fourth and fifth. The Wildcat 50 lap race saw Dan Bean bolt from the pole position and build a comfortable lead. Brian Caswell and Lewis Anderson were having a spirited duel for second place as they went 22 laps side by side. The only caution of the race waved on lap 32 but Bean was too strong taking back a good lead. Anderson settled for second place with Caswell third. David Vaughn was fourth and Steve Benincasa fifth. The Road Runner feature was next and Trevor Graffam led all 20 laps for the win. Dave Cameron over came a first lap spin to come back and finish second with Shawn Brackett third. Evan Armington was fourth and Taylor Lampron fifth.
