Barre , VT – Don “Dipstick” Tofani of Plainfield is the first entrant into the 27th Annual M&M Beverage Enduro on Sunday, August 7 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The sixty-six year old Enduro veteran will pilot the Richard Bell Surveyor, Craftsbury Garage Oldsmobile Cutlass in the $3,000-to-win “People’s Race.” Over 100 slightly modified street cars driven by amateurs, are expected to run in the 200-lap event that will feature no cautions and stops for emergencies only. The annual Enduro is an action-packed thriller for the whole family.

Tofani will attempt to become just the second multi-time winner of this event, after winning it back in 1987. Doug Turner of Milton, VT is the only two-time winner to date, with wins in 2003 and 2005.

Entries and rules are available every Thursday at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. They can also be found on the web in the Rules section of www.thunderroadspeedbowl.com or by contacting the ACT office at (802) 244-6963. The entry fee will be $50 until Friday, July 22. Later entries, up to and including the day of the event, Sunday, August 7, will be $75.

The “Nation’s Site of Excitement,” Thunder Road, will be in action this Thursday, July 7 with the Charter Communcations event. The Thunder Road Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, Allen Lumber Street Stocks and Junkyard Warriors will begin qualifying at 6:30pm. The front gate opens at 5:00pm with general admission tickets priced as $10 for adults, $3 for kids (ages 6 to 12) and $20 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 kids).
