Claremont, NH – The final tabulations are in, the numbers are staggering too most.
“Ricky’s Race For Kids” did what it was intended to do. Present a quality purse for
racers to compete for and raise as much money as possible for David’s House,
the Lebanon, NH., based facility that provides a home away from home for
needy families When the final figures were totaled this week, mission accomplished.
Retired racing great, Donnie Miller SR, and father of the late Ricky Miller, whom
the annual “Ricky’s Race For Kids” is named for, announced Thursday, the
final tabulations from last weeks race and fundraiser.
In a prepared statement The Miller family patriarch said, “It is with humble pride
that I can announce the total funds raised for David’s House through “Ricky’s
Race For Kid’s is $37,612. The support and generosity that this event receives
overwhelms me.”
“My family and my daily struggle to cope with Ricky’s loss is made a tiny
bit easier knowing this event in Ricky’s name will go to helping other families
with their struggle,”
Miller also addressed those that, for over a year, helped his family organize and
execute the 4th annual fundraiser. “Each and every one of you can be proud of your
great effort as this event continues to grow each year. From the bottom of our
hearts, Ricky’s Dad, Mom, Brother, and Sister, Thank you.”
With the support of Prime Corporate Sponsors, Irving Energy, of Portsmouth,
NH, and Mascoma Savings Back, of Lebanon, NH., the Valenti Modified Racing
Series sanctioned race carried a posted purse of $36,500. The popular event has
become a marquee race for the New England based series.
