FREDERICTON: Saturday night at the Fredericton Inn Speedway 660 held its annual Awards banquet to honor the champions and award winners from the past season. A crowd of over 300 on hand to see the 2012 hardware rolled out. This event is always a great cap off to the previous season and a kick off for the upcoming season.
The big winners in 2012 were division champions Dave O’Blenis, Glyn Nott, Shannon Brake, Luc McLaughlin, Cole Boudreau and Chuck and Cliff Mercer.
This year’s Hughie Yorke Dedication to the Sport award was presented to Steve and Bob Rogers. A testimate to two gentleman who have spent their life in racing and now making sure their sons and grandsons have the same opportunity.
In addition the Phil Cox Ironman Award was presented to Randy Moore. A steady and solid competitor that takes the highs and lows of racing as they come and enjoys the opportunity he has to enjoy the sport he loves.
A sneak peak of some keyt dates for the 2013 schedule were released Saturday night with the major events that make up a great summer of racing. Returning again in 2013 is a stop on the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) out of New England. PASS will be running a 150 lap event on June 7th. Speedway 660 will also see a stop on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Schedule with a 100 lap event on July 6th.
Atlantic Canada’s biggest motor sports weekend will get bigger in 2013 with the expansion of SPEEDWEEKEND to include racing on Friday night. Further details to come in the following weeks as the complete schedule is released. Fans cans also look forward to the 13th annual storied Auto Value 250.
The entire 2013 schedule is expected to be released in March in conjunction with more exciting news around the Speedways 20th season.

Speedway 660 is the place for “Wic KID Family Fun”. The 1/3 of a mile high-banked paved oval features three classes of racing on a weekly basis: AL Gullison Disaster Kleenup Pro Stocks, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, RV World Street Stocks, Hanwell Village Mart Bandoleros, and Fredeicton Jewelers 4 cylinders. Over 70,000 people are expected to attend events during the 2013 season. Speedway 660 is located off highway 7 on Route 660 in Geary, NB, and is within minutes of Saint John and Fredericton.
