Waterbury, VT – With the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) season now at its halfway point, the Payea name is standing at the forefront in more ways than one.

Cousins Scott Payea of Colchester, VT and Dylan Payea of Milton, VT are at different points of their lives and of their Late Model careers. But what both have in common is that they are on pace to accomplish big things in the 2018 ACT season.

Eddie MacDonald Finishes Second in American Canadian Tour Race at Waterford

Eddie Mac’s hopes to win the second leg of the ACT Summer Showdown Series fell one position short as he scored a hard-earned second place finish in the New London-Waterford Speedbowl 150 on Saturday, June 16 at the Connecticut facility. Eddie Mac started the 150 lap feature on the flat, 3/8 mile oval in the 11th position.

Waterford, CT – American-Canadian Tour (ACT) point leader and defending champion Scott Payea came on strong late to score his second win of the season and a $5,000 winner’s prize on Saturday, June 16 in the New London-Waterford 150. The Colchester, VT veteran took the lead for good from Williamstown, VT’s Jimmy Hebert on the final restart, then withstood a late surge from Rowley, MA’s Eddie MacDonald to capture round 2 of the ACT Summer Showdown Series at Connecticut’s New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

American-Canadian Tour (ACT) point leader and defending champion Scott Payea came on strong in the race’s second half to capture the New London-Waterford 150 on Saturday, June 16. The Colchester, VT veteran took the lead for good from Williamstown, VT’s Jimmy Hebert on a lap-105 restart, then withstood a test from Rowley, MA’s Eddie Macdonald to capture his second win of the season and the $5,000 winner’s prize in round 2 of the Summer Showdown Series. Hebert, Mike Ziter, and Bryan Mason rounded out the top-5.

ACT Loads Up for Second Round of Showdown Series

Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) makes its way to Connecticut’s New London-Waterford Speedbowl this Saturday, June 16 for round two of the ACT Summer Showdown Series. The New London-Waterford 150 will award the second $5,000 winner’s check of the 2018 season, meaning someone’s racing bank account is about to get a lot bigger.

Barre, VT – The weekly racing season for Barre’s Thunder Road Speedbowl arrives this Friday, June 8 with Capitol City Automart Night. The special Friday night event marks the unofficial start of summer in central Vermont as racing engines roar to life under the lights.

The event will be one of the biggest of the year for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers. The famed division opens the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series on Friday with a 75-lap main event. It is the second year for the 3-race series after a successful debut in 2017.
