BARRE, VT – American-Canadian Tour Late Model stock car racing champion Brian Hoar will return to the driver’s seat at Thunder Road’s 45th Annual Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl on Sat./Sun., Sept. 27/28. Hoar, 36, has been idle since the end of the 2007 season, a year in which the Williston, VT racer finished sixth in his first full season back on the ACT Late Model Tour following his fifth series championship in 2000. He previously raced in the series now known as NASCAR Camping World East.

ST-EUSTACHE, QC – The Série ACT-Castrol Late Model stock car series will crown its fourth champion on Saturday (Sept. 20), following the 14th Annual St-Eustache 300 at Autodrome St-Eustache near Montréal. Alexandre Gingras of Val-Bélair, QC leads the standings over St-Félicien, QC driver Karl Allard by just 20 points, 590-570, entering the season finale. To date, Gingras has not won a major touring series title in his career, but would become the fourth different Série ACT-Castrol champion in the series’ four-year history if he were to hang onto his lead over Allard.

OXFORD, ME – A pair of Vermont stock car drivers will team up for the New England Dodge Dealers 150 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, as Phil Scott of Montpelier sits in for South Burlington driver Trampas Demers in the Jiffy Mart #85VT Chevrolet. Demers’ car owner, Charlie Smith, ranks 21st in American-Canadian Tour Late Model Owner’s Championship standings, less than 100 points from the Top 10 with two events remaining. Demers is overseas on business, and Scott, the 2002 ACT champion, was called upon by Smith to take the seat at Oxford.

OXFORD, ME – Oxford Plains (ME) Speedway Track Champion Travis Adams has filed an entry for the New England Dodge Dealers 150 Late Model stock car race at his home track on Saturday (Sept. 13), and will try for his second career victory against the stars of the traveling American-Canadian Tour as they invade Oxford for the third and final time this season. Adams won the autumn ACT Late Model Tour event last year, and recently wrapped up his third consecutive and fourth overall weekly racing championship at the 3/8-mile Oxford oval.

BARRE, VT – Stock car drivers from around New England and eastern Canada are preparing for the 45th Annual Chittenden Bank Milk Bowl event at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road on the weekend of Sept. 27/28. The Milk Bowl is a three-segment, cumulatively scored event that awards $10,000 to the winner plus bonuses. And in a tradition that dates back to the first running of the race in 1962, the winner gets to kiss a real Vermont beauty, but with a twist – the lovely gal is a 1,000-lb Ayrshire dairy cow.
