VALLEE-JONCTION, QC – Patrick Laperle earned a $5,000 payday at the Coors Light 200 Showdown at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, QC on Saturday night, after winning the non-points, all-star invitational stock car event for the U.S.-based American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Model Championship Series and the Quebec/Ontario-based Serie ACT Castrol. Laperle started 11th on the 22-car grid and survived a scrape with Donald Theetge on the 142nd lap, then cruised to the win over Alexandre Gingras.

ST-EUSTACHE (Montréal), QC – The Série ACT Castrol stock car championship weekend at Autodrome St-Eustache near Montréal has been trimmed from a two-day affair to a one-day stand-alone race on Saturday, Sept. 20. The 14th Annual St-Eustache 300 will be the eighth and final championship event for the Série ACT Castrol Late Models, and will offer a bonus purse for any American-based teams that participate.

VALLÉE-JONCTION, QC – The field of 22 all-star Late Model stock car drivers has been set for the first-ever Coors Light 200 “Showdown at Chaudière” at Vallée-Jonction, QC’s Autodrome Chaudière on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6:30pm. The $5,000-to-win, non-points invitational race will feature the best 11 drivers from the U.S.-based American-Canadian Tour Late Model series and the top 11 drivers from Canada’s Série ACT-Castrol.

BARRE, VT – Pete Ainsworth of Middlesex turned his Tiger Sportsman stock car racing season around with a 30-lap feature victory in the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic program at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday afternoon. Ainsworth started tenth on the 28-car grid and methodically worked his way to the front. He reached leader Chris Lacey, a rookie from Burlington, on lap 20, battled door-to-door with Lacey for three laps, then drove away for the win.

BARRE, VT – Brad Leighton blazed a new trail to victory lane at the 30th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 stock car race for the American-Canadian Tour Late Model Championship cars on Sunday afternoon. The Center Harbor, NH driver’s 200-lap trip to the winner’s circle included two 90-mph, fully-airborne flights off the top of Thunder Road’s treacherous Turn 2 embankment, and four visits to pit road for flat right-front tires. On top of that, Leighton drove his Irving Oil/Subway/Coca-Cola #55NH Ford Fusion out of a lap-172 three-way slide with front-runners Eric Williams and Patrick Laperle before scoring the win by two car-
lengths.

More than 40 American-Canadian Tour Late Models take practice laps
BARRE, VT – Jeff Martin, Jr. of Moretown, VT won a wild two-segment race for the Power Shift Online Junkyard Warrior division at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road on Saturday, as part of the 30th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 program. Martin won the first 10-lap segment, then finished second in the second segment for a total low score of three points. Mike “Biffer” Gay of South Burlington, VT finished second overall with segment finishes of second and third for a total score of five points. Graniteville, VT’s Travis Hull, the division’s unofficial point leader, took third place honors after finishes of fifth and first for a total score of six points.
