BARRE, VT – Late Model stock car driver Cris Michaud of Northfield won a thrilling two-lap shootout over Hyde Park’s Eric Williams in the Sanel Parts Plus 50 at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday night. Michaud, a three-time Thunder Road Track Champion, had a full straightaway lead lap 48, as the race had run caution-free until rookie Matt White hit the wall to bring out the yellow flag and bunch the field for the restart. From there, Williams raced inches away from Michaud for the win but fell three feet shy
at the finish line.

OXFORD, ME – Maine Late Model stock car racing star Ricky Rolfe is riding a seemingly unstoppable wave of momentum, one that he expects to continue through the American-Canadian Tour’s Dunkin’ Donuts 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday (June 21) at 6:30pm. The Albany Township racer has won the last two weekly Late Model events at the 3/8-mile Oxford oval, and won the ACT New England Dodge Dealers 150 at the track in April.

The Série ACT Castrol was back in action at Autodrome Chaudière on Saturday night, and what a wild race it was. At a track that looks and feels like a cross between Vermont’s Thunder Road and New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park (and, thanks to the cows off Turn 3, sometimes smells like the Devil’s Bowl Speedway dirt track in southern VT), the Castrol drivers were, shall we say, a little trigger-happy.

VALLEE-JONCTION, QC – Serie ACT Castrol stock car driver Donald Theetge of Boischatel, QC won a caution-filled Coors Light 100 at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jct., QC Saturday night. Theetge started seventh in the 26-car field and took the lead from Daniel Descoste on lap 7, then survived 17 caution periods and a race-long duel with St-Nicolas, QC driver Yvon Bedard for the victory.

BARRE, VT – Late Model stock car driver Trampas Demers scored a rare Triple Crown victory in the Ferguson Waterworks event at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday night. The South Burlington driver swept his qualifying heat, the bonus “semi-feature,” and then held off strong challenges from his father, Dennis, and Dave Whitcomb to win the 50-lap feature race for the American-Canadian Tour Late Model class. The victory was Trampas Demers’ first of the season, and made up for a bitter defeat at the
Harvest Equipment Mother’s Day race on May 11 when his car shut down while leading with 10 laps remaining.
