St-Eustache, QC – Jean-François Déry of Quebec held off hometown favorite Patrick Laperle to take his second win of the season in the St-Eustache 200 at Autodrome St-Eustache on Saturday, August 10. Déry now has nine career Série ACT wins.
The race began with a major wreck on lap 1 of the 200 lap event. The wreck resulted in a red flag period of five minutes to allow drivers a chance to fix their automobiles. When the race got back underway Dany Trepanier took the point until lap 25 when Jonathan Bouvrette took over the lead.
Déry finally got to the front on lap 42 to take the lead. He battled with Laperle for the remainder of the event. Déry took over the lead for good and didn’t look back after lap 129. Laperle and Trepanier completed the podium. They were chased to the line by current Serie ACT point leader Patrick Cliche and Bouvrette. The top ten was rounded out with Etienne Cliche, Patrick Hamel, Donald Theetge, Stephane Descoste and rookie Christopher Bedard.

Williams Takes Tiger Win and Dudley Scores Again on WDEV/Calkins Night
Barre, VT – Eric Chase, the Milton, VT helicopter pilot, got a chance to beam in victory lane after 14 years of trying by wiring the Late Model field from the outside pole on WDEV/Calkins Night at Thunder Road on Thursday, August 8.
Chase was put to the test over the second half of the 50-lap feature by veteran Dave Whitcomb who spent many a lap alongside his Gary Clay Builders No. 40. Whitcomb tucked inside to play a few laps of defense when teenager Emily Packard arrived to contest the top positions. Whitcomb made a final bid on the outside in the final three laps and Packard nosed underneath him to finish 2nd on the final circuit.
Jason Corliss was a close 4th, followed by fast-closing Scott Payea. Positions 6-10 went to Jamie Fisher, Trampas Demers, Joey M Laquerre, Mike Bailey and Derrick O’Donnell.

Sanair Super Speedway Race Report

ACT Late Model Tour: Emily Packard
Sanair Super Speedway Race Preview
THE STORY
EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., makes her first trip north of the border for the Sanair 150 at Sanair Super Speedway in St. Pie, Que., on Saturday, August 3. The event is a combination race featuring both the U.S.-based ACT Late Model Tour and the Quebec-based ACT Castrol Series, and it will be held on the second-largest track the series visit during the season. Sanair is a .875-mile, triangular oval, and though Packard has never been to the track, she has fared well this season on the larger half-mile tracks ACT routinely competes on. She recorded her best career finish at Devils Bowl Speedway, a flat half-mile, back in May. Packard will book-end her race weekend with 50-lap Late Model features at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on both Thursday, August 1, and Sunday, August 4.
