Barre, VT – Kyle Pembroke of Montpelier claimed the third Triple Crown of the season in three regular-season events on Harvest Equipment Night on Sunday afternoon, sweeping his heat race, the semifeature, and the 50-lap Thunder Road Late Models feature.
Pembroke survived a collision with Eric Chase of Milton on his way to the victory. The two cars collided on the backstretch after the third caution flag of the race was thrown on lap 40. Since the wreck didn’t cause the yellow flag, Pembroke was allowed to reclaim his second-place position in the field. He moved past Darrell Morin of Westford on the ensuing restart and stayed in front for the rest of the event.
Rounding out the top ten were Nick Sweet of Barre, Morin, Phil Scott of Middlesex, Eric Badore of Milton, Jason Corliss of Barre, John Donahue of Graniteville, Shawn Fleury of Middlesex, and Josh Masterson of Charlotte. Badore and Sweet also claimed Maplewood Stores Triple Crowns in the first two regular-season Late Model events at Thunder Road.

In what can only be described as a dominant performance, Eddie MacDonald won the American Canadian Tour’s Central Asphalt Paving Generation Next 151 race on Saturday, June 18 at Speedway 51 in Groveton, N.H. to capture his second win of the season. On Friday night, the Grimm Construction Chevy struggled with a very loose racecar to post a 13th place finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, Connecticut.
After a hard crashed at Waterford Speedbowl a few weeks ago that required a new front clip on the Freddie Peterson owned EXIT Realty/Hancock Electric Motor Service Chevy, Eddie Mac and the crew were unsure how the car would respond in its first outing after being essentially rebuilt. They were quite pleased with the result as the “The Outlaw” posted the fastest time in practice and started seventh in the 150 lap event on the quarter mile oval.

Groveton, NH – Eddie “The Outlaw” MacDonald took the lead from Nick Sweet just past the halfway mark and never looked back en route to his second American-Canadian Tour (ACT) win of the season in the Central Asphalt Paving Generation Next 151 at Groveton, NH’s Speedway 51 on Saturday, June 18.
The Rowley, MA driver started seventh and slowly worked his way through the field in the early stages of the caution-free event. After moving into second place on lap 66 following an extended battle with polesitter Brandon Atkins, MacDonald needed just eight laps to reel in Sweet. He moved to the outside groove a few laps later, assuming the top spot on lap 78 and cruising to his first ACT win at the ¼-mile oval.

Barre, VT – Eric Badore of Milton held off a pair of challengers early, then pulled away late to claim his second care Late Model victory on Casella Waste Systems Night at Thunder Road.
