ACT American Canadian TourSt-Croix, QC – The 2013 Série ACT season finally got underway with the Riverside 100 at St-Croix, Quebec’s Circuit Riverside Speedway on Sunday, June 9. Quebec City’s Jean-François Déry battled his way from his 20th starting position to steal the win from longtime event leader Patrick Cliche. Cliche led the majority of the 100 lap event, but Déry stole the win on a restart with just ten laps to go.

Jean-François Déry Battles Way to Série ACT Win

Quebec City’s Jean-François Déry battled his way from his 20th starting position to steal the win from longtime event leader Patrick Cliche. Cliche led the majority of the 100 lap event, but Déry stole the win on a restart with just ten laps to go.

Déry held off Cliche on two restarts in the final three laps, while Série ACT veteran Claude Leclerc got by Cliche on the final restart to claim second. Two-time Série ACT Champion Donald Theetge worked his way from 18th to take 4th with Alex Labbe completing the top five.

Brooks Clark Takes Second Career Victory

Fayston, VT’s Brooks Clark stole the show on the WLVB twilight event at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday, June 9, holding off 7-time American Canadian Tour Champion Jean-Paul Cyr to claim the early-season Late Model victory.

Barre’s own Lance Allen led the early going of the 50-lap feature, battling 50-year racing veteran Joey Laquerre for the top spot. Allen took the lead for a handful of circuits before Clark powered by him in the outside lane. Clark looked to be in complete control of the race until a surge from 2009 King of the Road Cyr brought the battle to Clark’s back bumper for the feature win. Clark held on to the high lane where both cars preferred to be, and held off a late attack from Cyr to hang on to the win. Allen posted his first career podium finish in the Late Model division in third, followed by 2-time King of the Road Dave Pembroke, and Laquerre. 31 cars attempted to qualify for the 26 car starting grid.

Série ACT at Circuit Riverside Postponed Until Sunday

ACT LogoSt-Croix, QC – The Série ACT event at St-Croix, QC’s Riverside Speedway scheduled for Saturday, June 8 has been postponed due to rain. The makeup date is set for Sunday, June 9 with a post time of 1:00pm.

After rainouts at Autodrome Montmagny and Autodrome St. Eustache, this marks the third time in a row the Série ACT opening event has been postponed due to rain. The 2013 season will attempt to open once again on Sunday with a more promising forecast.

VP Fuel Posts $1,000 Bonus for ACT International 500

ACT500Waterbury, VT – VP Racing Fuels has added a $1,000 pole qualifier award bonus to the highest paying American Canadian Tour stock car race of the summer: the Inaugural ACT International 500 at Airborne Speedway on July 20/21.

The ACT competitor who qualifies in the top position for the first of three 100-lap segments for the Late Models will earn the $1,000 bonus. The marquee summer event already boasts a purse of over $140,000, with a guaranteed $25,000 going to the winner.

ACT Riverside Speedway Makeup Date Announced

The 150-lap race was postponed due to rain after 29 laps of action, and will resume on Sunday, June 23rd.  (Photo Credit: Alan Ward)Waterbury, VT– The rained out American Canadian Tour 150 at Groveton, NH’s Riverside Speedway scheduled for last Sunday, June 2 has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 23 with a post time of 1:30pm.

The 150-lap event was postponed due to rain with 29 laps of the feature complete last Sunday. Steuben, ME’s Rowland Robinson was in first place when the race paused after leading the first 29 laps of his ACT career. He will try to earn his first ACT win when the race resumes on Sunday, June 23.
