TOUGH FINISH FOR EDDIE MACDONALD AT SOUTH BOSTON

Eddie MacDonald and the Grimm Racing Team’s nineteenth place finish in the K& N Pro Series East race in the South Boston 150 was a disappointment for the driver who was sixth fastest in practice and ran steadily in the top ten for most of the event. MacDonald completed the race two laps down when black flagged by officials for nose damage late in the race.

The #71 Grimm Construction Chevy was running eighth on a lap 117 restart when the trouble began according to MacDonald, “The #16 slammed into the rear of my car on the restart knocking me sideways. He then drove under me and the #60 made it three wide on the outside. When we got to the turn one I
started to back out when the other two pinched me in causing the nose to buckle. Then they slammed into each other but the damage was already done to my car. We were not great but we had a top ten car. Then we got called in to fix the nose and that cost us two laps. I didn’t think the damage was bad enough to get black flagged especially since we were running in the top ten with not that many laps to go.”

GRIMM RACING AND UNOH TEAM UP AGAIN

The Grimm Racing Team and three students from the University of Northwestern Ohio met at the legendary Greenville Pickens Speedway in South Carolina for a day of testing Eddie MacDonald’s car for the K&N Pro Series East season opener at the track on March 26. The scheduled one testing day turned into two when weather forced the team’s return to the half mile oval on Friday March 10.

After an eight hour ride from the University’s campus in Lima, Ohio, Cody Bland from Bloomington, Indiana, Kody Weisner from Muskegon, Michigan, and Kevin Hollenbach from Hillsborough, New Jersey met the Grimm team in Greenville. Last year two of the students worked with the team during the UNOH sponsored event for the K&N series and the Whelen Modifieds at Martinsville.

Racin’ Preview Up Next for Busch North Scene Book Tour

Busch Sport Scene Publisher George Campbell will be signing copies of his new book, Busch North Scene: A Ten Year Retrospective at the Racin’ Preview 2011 show this weekend at the Portland Expo in Portland, Maine.

The Busch North Scene book was released in late November with a book launch that was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in auburn, Maine. Since then the book has been a very popular seller among race fans from the New England region. The “Ten Year Retrospective” book recaps the racers, teams and events that shaped the NASCAR Busch North Series during the 2000 decade. The book has fun and informative personal reflections from George and Busch North Scene staff members, as well as many of the personalities that made the series popular in the decade. (more…)

12th Annual Busch Sport Scene Snowmobile Ride for Charity Set for February 5, 2011

(Rangeley, ME) The 12th Annual Busch Sport Scene Snowmobile Ride for Charity will take place on Saturday, February 5th, 2011 at Moose Alley, which has been the Club House Restaurant for the past few years, in Rangeley, Maine. There will be many New England based race car drivers and team members joining the ride again this year, including PASS, ACT and local track racers. The ride is open to everyone: teams, fans and all, so make your plans to ride with the best racers in the northeast!

A Pair of former NASCAR Champions will lead the charge. Andy Santerre, a five time NASCAR Champion, will travel north from his home in North Carolinato his home state for the event. Two time champion Mike Olsen will be attending with several members of his Fadden Racing Team, traveling from their home state of New Hampshire. Busch Sport Scene Publisher to have Book Launch at Hilton Garden Inn

Busch Sport Scene publisher George Campbell will debut his new book, Busch North Scene: A Ten Year Retrospective, at a book launch party being held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn on November 20, 2010.


Campbell covered auto racing for a variety of national and regional publications in the 1990’s. In 1999 he started his own news print publication, Busch North Scene. His goal was to cover NASCAR in the northeast region of the country with the newspaper. Within two years, George and the staff members had grown the paper into the number one selling NASCAR newspaper on news stands through out much of New England.

MACDONALD WRECKED OUT IN K & N WEST RACE AT PHOENIX

Eddie MacDonald finished 24th in the 3 Amigos Tequila 125 at Phoenix
International Raceway while participating in the final race for the K & N
Pro Series West. The Grimm Construction Chevy was running in the eighth
position when taken out with a hard crash into the turn one wall.

The race was marred with 11 caution flags for 49 laps including three red
flags in the 125 lap event on the mile oval. MacDonald was involved in the
ninth caution on lap 107 when the #2 car of Daryl Harr tried to make in
three wide in turn one with a bonzi move below the yellow line. The west
driver lost it and slid into MacDonald sending both cars up into the
