WATERFORD, Conn. — The 2017 Granite State Pro Stock Series season saw one driver capture his second championship. Mike O’Sullivan, a former champion at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, wasn’t able to visit Victory Lane in the 12-race schedule. But that didn’t matter.
O’Sullivan was consistent enough to roll into the season-finale at New London-Waterford Speedbowl with a four point lead over Scott MacMichael. While his challengers had trouble, O’Sullivan was calm, cool and collective and finished seventh in the 100 lap feature. He avoided a few crashes and settled in late, knowing he just needed to finish well to become a two-time Granite State Series champion.

Waterbury, VT — American Canadian Tour (ACT) Managing Director Darla Hartt announced today a change in ownership of the 31-year old late model stock car racing series to Cris Michaud and Pat Malone, who completed purchase of the Thunder Road speedplant earlier this year.
Under the guidance of its founder, Tom Curley, ACT’s strict rules requirements, including the use of crate engines and other cost-restricting guidelines, positioned the American Canadian Tour as a long-standing leader in innovation in the short track industry. ACT events have been enjoyed by race fans throughout New England, New York, eastern Canada and Florida. Curley’s passion for the sport was evident in the fiery pit meetings he staged prior to each event, and his hands-on approach and inclusive philosophy proved a successful formula. Curley died in May of complications of COPD.

Big Month Of November On Tap For PASS Racers At Concord And Hickory
CHARLOTTE, NC (October 26) – Big race season is upon short track racing’s best as Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model racers prepare for two huge race weekends during the month of November in North Carolina. The 15th Annual North-South Shootout will be up first at the tough, triangular Concord Speedway on Saturday afternoon, November 4. And then, that will be followed by the most anticipated, revamped event in the country, the 12th Annual Mason-Dixon MegaMeltdown 300 at Hickory Motor Speedway. The MegaMeltdown will carry a winner’s purse of at least $15,000 to win and will be televised nationally on MAV TV. And, best of all, both races will start during the warmth of the afternoon and feature major support division races to add to the fans race day experience.

WATERFORD, Conn. – Joe Squeglia used a late pass of Angelo Belsito to capture his third Granite State Pro Stock Series victory of the season on Saturday night at New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
In the 25-car field that was filled with talent, Squeglia had to start ninth in the 100-lap main event, but it didn’t take him long to work his way up through the pack. He fought for second spot for most of the first half of the race, but when he finally got clear, he set his sights on Belsito looking for the top spot.

O’Sullivan, MacMichael Show The Way Heading For Shoreline Oval
WALPOLE, N.H. – The Granite State Pro Stock Series season will end in style on Saturday evening at Connecticut’s New London-Waterford Speedbowl. With one of the largest car counts of the season expected, the 2017 series champion will be crowned in the season-finale.
The 2017 season has seen 10 different drivers visit Victory Lane in the first 11 races, including Derek Ramstrom, who stormed onto the scene in the second half of last week’s race at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park en route to the victory. The only driver who has two victories in GSPSS competition so far this season is Joe Squeglia, who will be back at the Speedbowl.

Thompson, Ct. – Eddie MacDonald took control of the American Canadian Tour (ACT) 75-lap season finale at Thompson Speedway Saturday and sped off to a dominant win.
Four spots back, Scott Payea nailed down the 2017 ACT championship in the Harrison Redi-Mix No. 37. With his eighth top-five finish in nine races.
MacDonald, driving the Hancock Electric No. 17, took the lead briefly from Thompson regular William Wall on lap 12, regained it for keeps on lap 19 and then survived four restarts before drawing away once the race stayed under green.
