Darling Dominates at Seekonk Scores First Career GSPSS Victory in Seekonk 100

SEEKONK, Mass. – Seekonk Speedway regular David Darling captured his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series win on Saturday night. At his home track of Seekonk, Darling dominated the inaugural 100 lap main event on the third-mile oval and wheeled the Bristol Toyota No. 52 into Victory Lane. The victory was his third of the season at Seekonk overall — he had won two of the weekly shows before invading on the GSPSS Saturday night.

“It’s huge,” Darling said. “I have to thank Mike Parks and the whole Granite State crew, they have a neat series here. It’s pretty cool to be able to travel around and still save some money. Thanks to Seekonk Speedway and all the fans for coming out.”

Inaugural Seekonk 100 Slated For Saturday Night

SEEKONK, Mass. – With race four of the season on the horizon, the Granite State Pro Stock Series is headed for Massachusetts and the third-mile Seekonk Speedway. The inaugural Seekonk 100, which has $2,500 up for grabs to the winner, will take place on Saturday night, June 24.

The feature event will showcase top series regulars like former Seekonk driver Mike Mitchell and veteran Barry Gray up against some of the weekly NASCAR Whelen All American Series Seekonk competitors. David Darling currently leads the Seekonk point standings and has entered for the 100 lap feature after winning the most recent Pro Stock event at Seekonk.

Warrior Division Returning to Thunder Road

Barre, Vt. – Thunder Road officials have announced today that the Warriors will be returning to the Barre high banks beginning Thursday, July 20 as part of Fairpoint Communications Night. The entry-level division previously competed at the track from 2003 through 2011.

 

A total of six events have been scheduled for the revived division, which will officially be known as the “Road Warriors”. In addition to their July 20 opener, the Warriors will be on the card for WDEV/Calkins Night on Thursday, August 3; Cody Chevrolet Cadillac Night on Thursday, August 10; Jet Service/Accura Printing Night on Thursday, August 24; and the 39th Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic on Sunday, September 3. They will wrap up their season onSaturday, September 30 as part of Booth Bros./H.P. Hood Qualifying Day for the Vermont Milk Bowl.

Tigers to Take Two on North Country Federal Credit Union Night

Barre, Vt. – The Thunder Road summer racing season motors on this Thursday, June 22 with North Country Federal Credit Union Night. The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers have the main stage with double features on tap for the track’s storied division.

 

The Flying Tigers open the evening with round one of the Myers Container Services Triple Crown Series, which was rescheduled from the rain-shortened Harvest Equipment event on June 4. They will then conclude the night with their regularly scheduled North Country Federal Credit Union feature. In between, the Thunder Road Late Models and Allen Lumber Street Stocks have a full card of action as well.

First PASS Super Late Model win for Derek Griffith in Hight Chevrolet 150 at Speedway 95

Hermon, Maine – Derek Griffith of Hudson, New Hampshire nailed down his first-ever Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model victory Sunday afternoon in the Hight Chevrolet Buick GMC 150 at Speedway 95 in Hermon, Maine.

 

Griffith and his LCM Motorsports 12 car pulled away from the pack in the closing laps after an unusually-competitive battle saw five different drivers lead – many on more than one occasion – over the first 100 circuits of the tricky, 1/3-mile oval track.

Outduels Moltz, Masterson for 3rd straight ACT win

NORTH WOODSTOCK, NH – Scott Payea of Colchester, Vt. took the lead from Dillon Moltz on a lap 72 restart and notched his third consecutive American Canadian Tour (ACT) victory in the White Mountain 150 Saturday at White Mountain Motorsports Park.

 

Moltz started on the pole, led the first 71 laps and then drew even to Payea’s outside on lap 78, but never managed to regain the top spot. With six laps remaining, Payea finally managed to give Moltz the slip. His winning margin was four car-lengths.
