Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour Late Models are set to enter their 23rd season of competition with their season opener at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH this Sunday, April 13. This will be the seventh time the 3/8ths-mile speedway has hosted the season opener. CHARLOTTE, NC (April 3) – A second generation racer and the series all-time wins leader have been added to an already impressive list of pre-entries for this weekend’s 9th Annual Orange Blossom Special at Orange County Speedway for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models. Harrison Burton, who has also filed an entry for the upcoming Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory, and Preston Peltier join a strong group of contenders looking to take the checkered flag in Saturday night’s third race of the 2014 season for North America’s most diverse Super Late Model series.
Burton will be making his PASS South Super Late Model debut this season in the Dex Imaging/Cessna/Morton Building’s #12 following a successful 2013 which saw him score a pair of PASS Pro Late Model victories at South Carolina’s Dillon Motor Speedway. But, this will not be his first foray into PASS South racing, having qualified for two of the biggest events on last year’s calendar, the Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway and the Mason Dixon Meltdown at Southern National Motorsports Park.

Lee, NH – Several Quebec teams are set to help kick off the 2014 American Canadian Tour season at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 13. Série ACT Quebec runner-up in 2013, Alex Labbé of St. Albert, Quebec, two-time Série ACT Champion Donald Theetge of Boischatel, and Jonathan Bouvrette of Blainville, a NASCAR All-American Series Champion and first-time ACT event winner on the final weekend at Autodrome St-Eustache in 2013, are all gearing up for the 150-lap Governor’s Cup on the fast 1/3 mile asphalt track.
Labbé, who missed the 2013 Série ACT Quebec title by just eight points, the difference of four positions in a race, undoubtedly will be the driver to give his Larue Equipment team a second championship, following the one by Karl Allard of St. Félicien in 2010.

This change turns the weekend into a giant doubleheader as PASS North will open their Series on Saturday, and the $7,000 to win, Colossal Carnage 150 Enduro will go green on Sunday.
“We knew it was risky scheduling the opener in early April, but the past few seasons have allowed us to open up earlier as warm weather has graced us in late February and early March. Right now we still have several inches of snow on the grounds, and even with warm weather, we don’t feel the grounds will dry up enough to allow the event to be held on April 12th, stated Mayberry. We want to make sure to give plenty of advanced notice to our race teams, race fans, and employees, and that’s why we decided to make this decision well in advance of the event.”

With the opening date changed to April 26th, this will give teams like 2013 champion Cassius Clark, runner-up Joey Doiron, DJ Shaw, Johnny Clark, Ben Rowe and a host of others a couple of more weeks to fine tune their racers. Joining the PASS Super Late Models will be the PASS Mods, PASS Sportsman and the NELCAR Legends. Post time for the Saturday event will be 2pm.

Orange County has provided some of the most memorable races in PASS South history and is a favorite stop for fans and racers alike. This year’s race will once again be a PASS Fan Appreciation event with special admission pricing featuring $25 per vehicle load up to 6 people or $10 general admission.
“The fans are what it’s all about,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “We wouldn’t be able to have all the great short track racing we have in PASS without the fans. Orange County has some of the best fans in all of racing and we thought that PASS Fan Appreciation at the Orange Blossom Special was a way we could give back to those who support us.”
