Eric Chase Strikes Again on FairPoint Night at Thunder Road

troadBarre, VT – Ten days after his first Late Model career win, which was 14 years in the making, Eric Chase of Milton was back in victory lane on FairPoint Communications Night Sunday at Thunder Road.

Chase ruled the FairPoint Communications Night 50-lap main event after taking the lead from Joey Becker on lap 8. Jason Corliss and Phil Scott spent over 20 laps in hot pursuit before the race came apart on the frontstretch on lap 43.

As lapped car Dave Whitcomb eased up the track to let Chase slip through, he was turned by Corliss who was coming off turn four at full throttle. Scott slammed on the brakes and came to a stop against Whitcomb, only to be hammered from behind by Jamie Fisher.

Eddie MacDonald Holds Off Late Charge for Beech Ridge Win

ACT American Canadian TourScarborough, ME – Eddie “The Outlaw” MacDonald of Rowley, MA came from 11th on the field to take the win in the American Canadian Tour 150-lap event at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 17. MacDonald held off fierce competition over the final 13 lap sprint to take the victory.

MacDonald took over the lead from Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. after starting in the outside lane on a lap 131 restart. It looked like MacDonald would win easily until the fourth and final caution of the event flew on lap 137. This setup up the final battle with MacDonald and Polewarczyk on the front row followed by rookies Bobby Therrien and Travis Stearns.

Therrien made a veteran move to the inside of MacDonald following the restart, kicking Polewarczyk back to third. The Rookie and the Outlaw battled with Therrien on the inside and MacDonald trying to keep him pinched down. The pair raced door-to-door with Therrien gaining the edge at the line for the lead on two laps. MacDonald kept the momentum on the outside and dispatched Therrien with two to go. It then turned into a three-way fight for the runner-up spot as Polewarczyk, Therrien and Stearns took the checkered flag three-wide.

Fogleman And Grissom Look To Rebound in PASS South Return To SoBo

PASS RacingCHARLOTTE, NC (August 14) – Over the last year and a half, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model front runners Jay Fogleman and Kyle Grissom have been seemingly inseparable. Fogleman began racing full-time with PASS in 2009 and has since gone on to win 8 races and claim the 2012 PASS National Championship. Grissom stormed on to the PASS South scene in 2012 winning, the prestigious Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway before going on a Summer tear that saw him win three races in-a-row en route to the series championship.

Through eight PASS South races that have been contested so far this year, Fogleman and Grissom are neck-and-neck with one another again, each scoring five top five’s and six top 10’s. While Grissom does have a two-to-one edge in race wins compared to the Durham, NC veteran, Fogleman holds a 24 point advantage in the standings based mostly on a tough weekend for both drivers in the last PASS South event at Southern National Motorsports Park. Grissom finished 23rd due to an engine problem, while Fogleman fared slightly better, finishing 15th after being involved in a late race crash. Despite the intense nature of the competition on the track, Grissom has enjoyed his new found rivalry.
