THE STORY

Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, returns to PASS North Series competition this weekend when the series heads to the Southern Maine Motors 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 9. Doiron, the 2010 PASS Rookie of the Year, has scaled back to a part-time effort in the series after some bad luck early in the going. He heads to his home track at Beech Ridge this weekend, where he also has competed several times this season in the track’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series division.

The series point leader with a record 30 career ACT wins, Hoar hopes to turn in yet another impressive Top-5 finish at the tight bullring track.

THE STORY

Mulkern Racing will field a two-car effort as the PASS North Series heads back to its hub for the Southern Maine Motors 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 9. Full-time driver Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John, New Brunswick, will pilot his usual No. 48 A.E. McKay Builders Chevrolet, while team owner Scott Mulkern will make his second start of the season in the No. 84 Southern Maine Motors Chevrolet. Sommerville is coming off a Top-5 finish at Canaan Fair Speedway last weekend and hopes to improve on his fourth-place run in the season opener at Beech Ridge back in April. The race marks the beginning of a trying stretch for PASS North teams – it’s the first of two races in four days and four races in two weeks.

THE STORY

Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, will return to ACT Late Model Tour racing action at Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH, Saturday July 9. This will mark Theriault’s second stop at the tight, egg-shaped speedway where he finished 10th in his first start at the track. Theriault has spent the last two off-weekends getting seat time by running the Governor’s Cup at Thunder Road International Speedbowl and last weekend’s Saturday night Late Model event at Oxford Plains Speedway. The RPM Motorsports No. 57 Varney Insurance Ford team hopes to come out of Twin State Speedway with a solid Top-10 and swing some momentum to their side leading up to the TD Bank 250.

THE STORY

Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt., and the ACT Late Model Tour will return to Twin State Speedway in Claremont, N.H., for the Twin State 100 on Saturday, July 9. Dragon, who has more ACT starts than any driver in history, won this event in 2009 as part of a midsummer surge. In his last appearance at the track, Dragon was again in contention for a win when an on-track incident relegated him to a 13th place finish. Dragon will bring with him his knowledge of the track and his past strong performances as he races for his first ACT Tour win of the 2011 season.

Sixty-Six Year Old Don “Dipstick” Tofani First Entrant in M&M Beverage Enduro

Barre , VT – Don “Dipstick” Tofani of Plainfield is the first entrant into the 27th Annual M&M Beverage Enduro on Sunday, August 7 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The sixty-six year old Enduro veteran will pilot the Richard Bell Surveyor, Craftsbury Garage Oldsmobile Cutlass in the $3,000-to-win “People’s Race.” Over 100 slightly modified street cars driven by amateurs, are expected to run in the 200-lap event that will feature no cautions and stops for emergencies only. The annual Enduro is an action-packed thriller for the whole family.
