Bradley McCaskill In Unexpected Position For PASS Return To Southern National
CHARLOTTE, NC (February 22) – In the early 2000s, the ranks of Super Late Model racing in the southeast were shrinking. The few tracks that featured the division, which included Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC, were eliminating them and there was not a series for teams to follow. By the winter of 2005, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry decided to take a big risk in expanding his sanctioning body that was already finding success in New England. When the inaugural PASS South Super Late Model season was announced in 2006, the second race that inaugural year was at Southern National and was won by the legendary Freddie Query. Now, 11 years later, PASS South continues as the oldest and most successful Super Late Model sanction in the region, and fittingly, returns to Southern National for the first time in two years, along with the NASCAR Late Model Stocks, for the Dogwood 300 on Saturday afternoon, March 4.
One of the drivers who came on board to support PASS virtually from the beginning was Knightdale, NC’s Bradley McCaskill. In 2008 and 2009, McCaskill competed for the championship, with a best point finish of 10th in 2009. As he settled down to start a family, he stepped back to compete closer to home in the Limited Late Model and Late Model Stock divisions. But, with his own graphics business that worked closely with many PASS teams, McCaskill was never too far from the series that he got his start.

Northwest Qualifiers For Oxford And Hickory, Entry Forms, And Lap Boards Keep PASS Busy
CHARLOTTE, NC (February 15) – Although the 2017 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) season is barely under way, North America’s most prominent Super Late Model tour is already looking towards two of the biggest events of the year, the 44th Annual Oxford 250 in August and the recently announced Mason-Dixon MegaMeltdown 300 in November. Today officials from PASS, the Northwest Super Late Model Series, and Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval (WVSO) announced that two events at the Washington State speedway will serve as qualifiers for each of the premier events in PASS.
“I met Tom [Mayberry] at North Wilkesboro about five years ago and since then we have become good friends and shared a lot of late night talks while on the road traveling,” said Garrett Evans, a multi-time Super Late Model champion in the Northwest. “It was a great honor to have the PASS Northwest Triple Crown at WVSO, my hometown track, a few years ago. The timing wasn’t right for a series in our area then, but I feel things are getting closer for PASS to possibly return next year.”

Irvan Makes Late Charge To Claim PASS Winter Meltdown At Dillon
DILLON, SC (February 4) – Third-generation racer Jared Irvan was able to move past leader Christian Eckes following a late-race restart and led the rest of the way to win the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model national season opener Saturday afternoon at Dillon Motor Speedway. Irvan’s win in the Winter Meltdown 200 was his first since capturing the checkered flag at Anderson Motor Speedway back in 2015.
“We both spun the tires a little bit on that last restart and ended up going into turn one too fast and I actually thought I went in too high, but he [Eckes] did too and I was able to come off with the lead,” said Irvan. “This is really big for our momentum for the rest of the year and hopefully we can get a little more sponsorship to help us through the rest of the year.”

Winter Meltdown And Rich SC History Meet In PASS Opener At Dillon
CHARLOTTE, NC (February 2) – While New England and Canada’s best dig out of the snow to make their way South, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model racers from across the Southeast prepare to greet them for this weekend’s 4th Winter Meltdown at Dillon Motor Speedway. While Dillon has hosted PASS as part of the South Carolina Clash event since 2008, this year’s 200 lap Meltdown will be held there for the first time. The Winter Meltdown has been dominated by New Englanders with Brad Leighton taking the checkered flag at New Smyrna in 2010 and Maine’s Joey Doiron claiming the last two versions with wins at Auburndale and Greenville.

McCumbee, Rowe, and Berry Head Next Round Of Entries For Meltdown At Dillon
CHARLOTTE, NC (January 26) – Prominent names from the North and South head the ever growing list of drivers for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model season opener at Dillon Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon, February 4. The “Original” Winter Meltdown will be headlined by the 200 green flag lap South Carolina Clash and will pit the best short track racers in North America against one another for the first race of the 2017 PASS National Championship series. The 12th Annual Clash at the Winter Meltdown will also double as the first race for the PASS South Super Late Models.
Ocean Isles, NC’s Chad McCumbee has done nearly everything you can think of when it comes to auto racing. From a successful career in Late Model Stocks at Myrtle Beach Speedway to nearly winning in the Camping World Truck Series, McCumbee even played Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in an ESPN production based on his father. In recent years, McCumbee has honed his road racing skills driving the ModSpace Mazda and will compete this weekend in the preliminary events at Daytona International Speedway leading up to the Rolex 24. But, with all that on his resume, the Winter Meltdown at Dillon will be his first start in a PASS Super Late Model.
