NAPLES, ME (October 12) – After the grind of another long season, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models and Modifieds will close out 2016 this Saturday afternoon at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway. The PASS Modifieds have an outstanding points battle heading to Oxford Plains with Andy Shaw leading by a slight four points over Ryan Robbins and third place points man Ben Tinker just 19 points behind Shaw.
The battle for the PASS North Super Late Model crown comes down to two former champions, DJ Shaw and Johnny Clark. Shaw leads Clark by 69 points as they come to Oxford Plains for Saturday afternoon’s 150-lap event. Clark, the former six-time series champion, recently captured his first win of the season at White Mountain Motorsports Park. While Shaw has not won since Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in April, his consistency has him on the threshold of a second PASS North title.
“As far as the season goes, I would consider the season successful, but we really wanted more wins,” says Shaw, driver of the Precision JLM/Mulkern Excavating #60. “We race for wins and they just didn’t come this year. We still have a shot at winning our second race this weekend, but you always want more.”

Epping, New Hampshire – Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, New Hampshire earned his third Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model victory of the season Friday night in the twice-postponed Make A Wish 150 at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire.
Probably better known near and far as ‘Joey Pole Junior,’ Polewarczyk started the race in 13th position, methodically working his way through the field to take the lead away from Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine in the JBJ Machine 73. Doiron had led most of the 150-lap race after taking the lead away from early leader Todd Stone of Middlebury, Vermont at the event’s quarter pole.
A late-race restart erased a healthy lead held by Doiron, then Polewarczyk took command. In the closing laps Travis Benjamin of Morrill, Maine made a late charge that came up just about a car-length short aboard the 99 Restaurants car. Doiron crossed the line in third position.

HICKORY, NC (October 1) – Mt. Airy, NC’s John Smith played the pit strategy game correctly again to claim his fourth Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) presented by PASS win Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway in the Hickory 125. With his win, Smith and Burt Myers are unofficially tied for the series points lead heading to the season-ending Kenny Minter Memorial 125 on October 22 at Caraway Speedway.
“Yeah, we sat there and took care of our tires for the first 50 or 75 laps and my guys are good on pit road and I made a deal with them that if they got me out first that I thought we could win and luckily we did,” said Smith, driver of the Mumy Financial #25. “Going to Caraway, we’ve just got to race our hearts out. Burt [Myers] is a helluva racer and we’ve just got to go at it and let the chips fall where they may.”
For the fourth time this year, Brandon Ward was able to capture the Precision Built Spindles Pole Award with a lap of 14.371 seconds (90.933 MPH) around the 66-year-old facility. But, after the top six qualifiers redraw, Bobby Measmer, Jr. and Burt Myers would move to the front row, while Ward would move back to the fifth starting position.

WMMP is a ¼-mile, high-banked oval and Griffith has won on the track before in Pro Stock racing. The young racer was hoping for a repeat last Saturday night.
Starting 12th in the field of 17 Super Late Models, Griffith got caught up in a racing incident early on and was shuffled back to the end of field on the initial restart. Griffith was able to work his back through the field and was solidly in the top-10 for the remainder of the race.

HICKORY, NC (September 24) – Defending Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model Champion, Tate Fogleman, prevailed in a race-long battle with Chris Dilbeck to capture his first career series win in the Catawba Valley 150 on Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway. With his win, Fogleman and his father, Jay, join Mike and Ben Rowe as the only father-son duo to ever capture wins in the South’s oldest Super Late Model tour.
“Yeah, it’s definitely been a long time coming, that’s for sure,” said Fogleman in an emotional victory lane. “He [Dilbeck] definitely put up a fight there at the end and I had my work cut out for me to get around him. This has been the closest we’ve been to victory lane and I just couldn’t let that one get away.”
In qualifying, rookie Kodie Conner captured his first career quick qualifying lap with a time of 14.924 seconds (87.563 MPH). After the top 10 qualifiers redraw, Conner would drop to the ninth starting position, while six-time Hickory winner, Preston Peltier, and Lucas Jones would move to the front row.

North Woodstock, New Hampshire – Johnny Clark of Farmingdale, Maine led all 150 laps to earn his first Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model win of the season in Saturday night’s Foley Oil & Propane 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire.
It was the first victory of the season for the six-time series champion, who ranks second in the current championship standings behind 2014 titlist DJ Shaw, who finished 11th. Clark is the 11th driver to score a PASS North Super Late Model victory this year. No driver has more than two wins after 14 of 16 events have been contested.
Clark, sponsored by the family-owned clarksscrapmetals.com chain, became the first competitor this season to lead every lap in a Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model contest. Reigning Series champion Mike Rowe of Turner, Maine made things interesting throughout the 150-lapper, successfully protecting second position until turning up the heat on Clark following the race’s final restart with ten laps to go.
