Epping, NH – DJ Shaw grabbed his second win in his fourth race of 2014 last Saturday night at what is quickly becoming one of his favorite tracks, Star Speedway.  The third race for the Pro All Stars Series North saw the #60 Precision JLM Chevrolet keep in contention all night through the 150 lap feature event, and come on strong at the finish to take the checkered flag.  This is Shaw’s second straight win at Star after winning the Granite State Pro Stocks Series event at the track last season.

“I’ve taken a liking to this place, we had a great car tonight and I can’t thank my team enough for bringing these fast racecars to the track,” Shaw jubilantly said in victory lane, “Starting up front helped us tonight and we were able to stay clean for the most part and towards the end there when it was time to go I was able to get up there and grab the lead. We had some great racing with Johnny and Cassius all night and I hope the fans enjoyed it.”

ALTAMAHAW, NC (May 9) – Current points leader Tyler Church passed race long leader Trevor Noles with six laps to go to win his first Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model race of the season Friday night at Ace Speedway. Church’s win in the Ace’s Wild 150 was his first in a year that has that has already seen him finish second twice and third on one occasion.
“The car was a little tight and I started moving around a found something over in turn four and man, this car came alive,” said Church after becoming the fourth different winner in four PASS South events at Ace Speedway. “This was a hard race. Me and my daddy, we work so hard on this car. This race is for him.”
Due to thunderstorms in the area, qualifying was delayed for over two hours as series and track officials attempted to dry the track. PASS officials made the decision to go to a “European style” qualifying format which saw groups of cars take to the track for 10 laps with the lineup being determined by group speeds. Rookie Jared Irvan claimed his first career PASS South quick qualifying time with a lap of 15.228 seconds around the tricky 4/10 mile speedway. Following the traditional PASS top 10 qualifier redraw, Irvan would drop back to third while Trevor Noles and Joe Ryan Osborne moved up to the front row for the start of the race.

Irvan, PASS South Title Contenders Looking For Breakthrough At Ace

309-PASS South Print LogoCHARLOTTE, NC (May 6) – Through the first four races of the 2014 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model season, fender-to-fender battles and close finishes have been the order of the day. Daniel Hemric, Roger Lee Newton, and DJ Shaw have all tasted the spoils of victory so far this season, while PASS South contenders like Cole Timm, Tyler Church, and Jared Irvan have just fell short of taking their first checkered flags of the year. But, that all could easily change with Friday night’s Ace’s Wild 150 at Ace Speedway.
The Ace’s Wild 150 marks a return for the PASS South Super Late Models to the Ace Speedway for the first time since 2011. A strong field of contenders will be vying to become the fourth different PASS South winner at Ace Speedway in as many races and join Andy Loden, Ryan Blaney, and Clay Rogers as one of a select few who have managed to tame one of North Carolina’s toughest short tracks.

Doiron ended the “Southern Maine Motors 150” in the seventh position after starting from the 18th position. This is Doiron’s third consecutive top ten finish in the spring race at his home track of Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

“We are still trying to figure this new car out, we were fighting the handling a bit during the race but we improved a lot over where we were last weekend at Oxford Plains,” Doiron said of his seventh place effort, “It was hard to get anywhere with that long green flag run and coming from as deep in the field as we did.”

Scarborough, ME – After opening the Pro All Stars Series North season up last weekend with a third place finish, DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM Racing team fought hard for a fourth place effort on Saturday in the second race of the season. Shaw ran in the top ten throughout most of “The Southern Maine Motors 150” at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, but long green flag runs made track position crucial as Shaw fought into the top five late in the race. In the end, Shaw was satisfied with his day.

“We got stuck in traffic for a little bit of this race and the long green flag runs made it hard to pass today with everyone getting strung out early,” Shaw said after the race, “We still had another good car and I’ll take two top fives to start the season, we fought hard with a lot of great drivers today and the competition is really tight every week.”
