Fogleman Takes Wild PASS South Win At Home Track In Orange Blossom Special

PASS RacingROUGEMONT, NC (October 19) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model points leader Jay Fogleman took one step closer to the championship by winning a wild 8th Annual Orange Blossom Special at Orange County Speedway Saturday night. The win was Fogleman’s 9th career PASS South Super Late Model win, but his first at Orange County Speedway, the track he began his racing career at over 30 years ago.

“The pace was all over the place tonight, it was real hard to back up and ride because everybody was going so hard around us,” said Fogleman in victory lane. “Just glad to get a win here for all the people that have supported us over the years at this place. It’s really nice to finally win one here, we’ve lost a couple.”

Action Packed Night Awaits PASS South Racers In Return To Orange County

CHARLOTTE, NC (October 16) – Since the first Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model took to the Orange County Speedway, fans and racers could tell that something special was happening. The PASS South Super Late Models quickly adapted to the high banked 3/8 mile track in Rougemont, NC and have staged some of the most memorable races there in series history. This weekend’s 8th Annual Orange Blossom Special will mark the 12th time the PASS South Super Late Models have raced at Orange County and will put the track in some rare company. Orange County, along with Hickory Motor Speedway, are the only two tracks in the country to host at least one PASS South event every year since the series started in 2006. So, it is only fitting that the Orange Blossom Special will double as PASS Fan Appreciation. This will be an opportunity for fans to see the top short track stars in the country compete for an admission fee of only $20 per vehicle up to four adults with any additional adults only paying $5 per person.

While much of the focus will be on the championship contenders as PASS South points leader and local favorite Jay Fogleman seeks his first series win at Orange County and as Kyle Grissom looks to back up his win there last year and close the gap in the title race, several drivers will be looking to steal some of that spotlight. One of those drivers will be “Rockin’” Rodney Brooks. The Maine native, who now lives in Salisbury, NC, recently took over the Godfather Motorsports entry co-owned by MRN Radio’s Dave Moody and Jim Gallison. Since taking the reins of the #30 KOMA Unwind/Trinity Oaks Senior Living Community Ford at South Boston Speedway in August, the team has rattled off three straight top ten finishes, highlighted by a 7th place finish at Hickory. Running in the top five much of the last event at Dillon Motor Speedway has Brooks excited for his chances in the Orange Blossom Special.

$20 A Carload Offer To Greet PASS Fans At Orange County

PASS RacingCHARLOTTE, NC (October 8) – After a long season for fans and competitors that began back in March, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) will be giving back to their fans at Orange County Speedway. PASS Fan Appreciation will offer $20 a car load admission for up to four adults per car at the upcoming 8th Annual Orange Blossom Special on Saturday, October 19th featuring 150 laps of intense action for the PASS South Super Late Models. Any additional adults in a vehicle with more than four adults will only be charged $5 more per person. Always innovative, PASS was the first short track racing sanctioning body in the country to make this opportunity available back in 2010 at Orange County Speedway.

“We felt like Orange County Speedway was the perfect place to make this offer available to our fans who have supported us all season long,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “Orange County has proven to be an ideal facility for the PASS South Super Late Models and we expect this year’s Orange Blossom Special to be one of the biggest yet.”

Hemric Mounts Late Charge To Win PASS South Wildcat 150 At Dillon

DILLON, SC (October 5) – It was déjà vu for the #98 Carswell Motorsports team as Daniel Hemric made a late race charge Saturday night to win the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model Wildcat 150 at Dillon Motor Speedway. The win was Hemric’s second PASS South win of 2013 and came at the site of the Carswell team’s first series victory in 2008 with the now retired Justin Wakefield.

“Considering that this is where Jake and Deanna [Carswell] started their Super Late Model career, this is pretty cool, especially doing it here at Dillon…it’s really neat for everybody,” Hemric said afterwards in victory lane.

The afternoon certainly started out promising for Hemric as he scored his first career PASS South quick time in qualifying, nearly two-tenths of a second quicker than his nearest competitor with a lap 89.419 miles per hour around the 4/10 mile egg-shaped speedway. But, that was tempered in the top ten qualifiers redraw when he drew pill number nine which resulted in starting the 150 lap feature inside of row five.
