Oxford, ME – With one remaining in the Pro All Stars Series North season, Joey Doiron and the 73 Wild Willy’s Burgers/JBJ Machine team was right in the thick of the championship battle. After relinquishing the top spot in the last race at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Doiron sat just three points behind Cassius Clark going into the final race at Oxford Plains Speedway. The season began with those tow driver duking it out for the victory, and it was only fitting that they do the same to decide the championship.
Oxford had proven to be one of Doiron’s best tracks during the season, with a few runner up finishes going into this race. He would start third in his heat qualifying race that would determine the starting lineup for the 48 Super Late Models that showed up to run in the final event. It didn’t take him long before he was in the lead, and he drove away with the heat win. This gave Doiron the best possible starting spot for a former winner during the season, 11th spot for the 150 feature event.

Oxford, ME – DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM went into the final race of the Pro All Stars Series North season with one goal, win. After early struggles throughout the day, they did just that, taking the lead with 24 laps to go and holding off a charge from Scott Mulkern to grab his third win of the PASS North season, the most of any driver in the Series.
The day started out rough as Shaw as he only finished sixth in his heat race, not enough to transfer into the Feature race while 48 other cars battled for the 36 starting spots. He would start on the pole in the consolation race, and drive away with the win. This gave Shaw a 22nd place starting position for the 150 lap event. The team felt like they had hit on something though, as they made several adjustments to the car throughout the morning to get it right.

CHARLOTTE, NC (October 2) – The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models first started competing “South Of The Border” at Dillon Motor Speedway in 2008. That race was held on a sweltering Sunday afternoon under the hot South Carolina sun and was won by the now retired Justin Wakefield. Since then, the South Carolina Clash at Dillon has been held in March to kick off the PASS South season and Ron Barfield’s 4/10 mile speedway has grown to be a favorite stop for fans and competitors alike.
This Saturday night’s Wildcat 150, an event name harkening back to races held at Dillon Motor Speedway when the track was dirt in the 1970’s, will mark a series of firsts for the PASS South brigade. It will be the first time PASS South has ever raced at Dillon during the fall. And, it will also be the first time PASS has ever staged more than one Super Late Model race in the same year at the facility. Back in March, Maine youngster Austin Theriault took advantage of slower traffic to edge out veteran Preston Peltier for the win in the closest finish in PASS South history.

It was day two of the P.A.S.S. North championship weekend, and a beautiful weather day attracted a full field of cars into the huge Oxford Plains Speedway pit area. Fifty Super Late Models entered the garage area to compete for thirty-six positions in the Ripley and Fletcher Ford 150.
Johnny Clark and Shawn Martin brought the field to green with Clark assuming the point from the get go. Clark held the lead until Scott Mulkern took over the top spot on lap 17 and set a torrid pace until lap 75 when Joey Doiron slipped by Mulkern for the lead. Doiron and Cassius Clark were tied in points heading into the main event, and Doiron was ecstatic as the crowd erupted when he grabbed the top point. Mulkern regained the lead after a caution for a minor spin by Dylan Gosbee on lap 94. Mulkern held off all chargers including Doiron, Cassius Clark and DJ Shaw until the final caution flew on lap 130 as Shawn Martin broke a suspension part and flew over the top of turn three. This caution set up an unbelievable set of circumstances as the top three, Mulkern, Clark, and Doiron were three wide for three consecutive laps before Clark snared the lead. The lead time for Clark was short lived as DJ Shaw raced by, and held the lead to the finish. Mulkern raced home second, followed by Cassius Clark, Travis Benjamin and Doiron. By finishing in the third position, Cassius Clark was crowned the 2013 P.A.S.S. North champion. In victory lane Clark thanked the world, especially his Hight Chevrolet family for their support. Heat checkers flew for Johnny Clark, Mike Rowe, Joey Doiron and Shawn martin. Consolation victories went to Tony Ricci and DJ Shaw, while the “B” feature checkers flew for Mike Landry.
