Shaw’s run To the Front Plagued by Incident at Chaudiere

djshaw_headshotVallee-Jonction, Quebec – DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM team traveled north of the international border this past weekend to the tight ¼ mile bullring, Autodrome Chaudiere, for the Pro All Stars Series North “Frameco 150.” Making his way through the pack early, Shaw was involved in an incident and had to settle for an eventual eleventh place finish.

The day started off with Shaw finishing fifth from the rear of the field in his heat race, putting him in the 15th spot for the 150 lap feature event. The starting position wasn’t a worry to the team though, as they’ve started in the middle of the pack each race so far this season. Shaw worked his way through traffic early and had one of the fastest cars on the track until an incident with Trevor Sanborn relegated Shaw to the rear of the field with a bent suspension. That was just one of the many incidents in the caution filled event on the tight bullring. The team compensated for the bent suspension the best they could after the wreck, and rallied to finish 11th when the checkered flag waved.

The eventful day started in practice, when the oil pump went sour in the 73 machine, forcing the team to retire their backup car. Doiron stepped into the backup car for DJ Shaw just in time for the final practice session to get a few laps in the car. Getting a feel for the newly numbered 68 car in the heat race, Doiron missed the transfer spot by one position, forcing him to the consolation race.
