Jake Madore, of Arundel, picked up his first career Sport Series NASCAR Nite victory Saturday night.

Madore paced the field to the green flag, however surrendered the lead to Windham’s veteran Reggie Leeman on lap two. Leeman, who finished second the previous week, led until a caution on lap 15 which bunched the field back together.

On the ensuing restart, Madore chose the inside lane on the leaders lane choice giving Leeman the outside. Madore and Leeman battled side-by-side for multiple laps until Madore was able to edge Leeman going into the first turn.

Clyde Hennessey, of Windham, followed Madore and passed Leeman as well. Hennessey worked his way to the outisde of Madore and battled for 15 laps trying to capture the lead from Madore. Coming to the checkered flag Madore was able to beat Hennessey by a nose length and capture his first win.

Reid Lanpher

SCARBOROUGH, ME — In an event sponsored by adult beverage company Miller Lite, it was 16-year-old Reid Lanpher who stole the show during Tuesday night’s American Celebration 50-lap Pro Series feature at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME).  Lanpher continued a trend set by Pro Series drivers Tyler King and Corey Bubar by becoming the third straight (fifth out of last six) winner of the event not of legal drinking age.

After starting from the ninth position, Lanpher from Manchester, Maine used the inside lane to work his way through the field and eventually power to the inside of Mike Fowler to take the lead on lap 10.  With a fast car underneath him during an event that went caution-free, Lanpher would never look back on his way to claiming his first career NASCAR Whelen All-American Series victory at Beech Ridge.

Windham’s Corey Bubar took the victory in the Pro Series 125 Saturday night, in a dominating performance. Bubar led most of the extended race and went on to be the first repeat winner in the Pro Series division.

After capturing the pole spot in qualifying, Bubar led the 25-car field to the green flag. Bubar led until a early race caution bunched the field back together. On the restart, Bubar faced Charlie Colby, of Newcastle. After battling side-by-side for a few laps, Colby was able to edge Bubar going into the first turn to capture the lead. Colby opened up a two car-length advantage over Bubar, but a caution on lap 26 set the two up for battle again.

Colby chose the outside leaders lane choice giving Bubar the inside groove. Bubar was able to pass Colby coming out of the fourth turn to regain the lead. Veteran Bryan Kruczek, of New Market, NH, started to charge his way to the front. By lap 30, Kruczek had passed Colby and set his sights on Bubar. On lap 39, Kruczek passed Bubar with ease and opened up a five car length advantage.

Evan Beaulieu

Scarborough, ME – After a rough start to the 2014 season, Evan Beaulieu and the 56 Hancock Lumber team rebounded in a big way this past weekend. Beaulieu lead laps in the 50 lap Pro Series feature at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on his way to a sixth place result in what he described as one of the roughest races he’s been a part of. This was a satisfying result for the team, as they have fought to make their car competitive throughout the first three races, Beaulieu was ecstatic after the race.

“This feels so good to have a great run tonight, we had a competitive car, this team did a great job and I was on the wheel tonight,” Beaulieu said after the 55 minute feature event, “We were a rocket for the first three or four laps after a restart, and after that the car just kept tightening up through the run and that ended up costing us the win, but we are making gains and I’m thrilled to just get a good finish, we had a lot of fun tonight and that’s what it’s all about.”
