Glen Luce wins PASS Super Late Model finale, DJ Shaw wraps up series Championship
Ryan Robbins wins PASS Modified race and title, Street Stock Open win for Calvin Rose, Jr.
Oxford, Maine – Glen Luce of Turner earned a trip to victory lane the hard way, driving from 29th starting position to victory lane Saturday on Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model Championship Day at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Luce ran afoul of tech inspectors after a heat race and was forced to the consolation rounds, where he charged from the back of the field to finish fifth. He made most of his progress during a 100-plus lap green flag stretch in the remarkably-competitive race.

NAPLES, ME (October 12) – After the grind of another long season, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models and Modifieds will close out 2016 this Saturday afternoon at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway. The PASS Modifieds have an outstanding points battle heading to Oxford Plains with Andy Shaw leading by a slight four points over Ryan Robbins and third place points man Ben Tinker just 19 points behind Shaw.
The battle for the PASS North Super Late Model crown comes down to two former champions, DJ Shaw and Johnny Clark. Shaw leads Clark by 69 points as they come to Oxford Plains for Saturday afternoon’s 150-lap event. Clark, the former six-time series champion, recently captured his first win of the season at White Mountain Motorsports Park. While Shaw has not won since Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in April, his consistency has him on the threshold of a second PASS North title.
“As far as the season goes, I would consider the season successful, but we really wanted more wins,” says Shaw, driver of the Precision JLM/Mulkern Excavating #60. “We race for wins and they just didn’t come this year. We still have a shot at winning our second race this weekend, but you always want more.”

Oxford, Maine – TJ Brackett of Buckfield prevailed over his best friend, Shawn Knight of South Paris, in a thrilling Budweiser Championship Series Super Late Model main event Saturday night at Oxford Plains Speedway.
While the race winner made his division-leading third trip to victory lane this season it was his father, Tim Brackett, scoring the big prize, claiming his second straight track championship. It was the fourth Oxford Plains Speedway championship for the Oxford native currently residing in Buckfield.
TJ Brackett started 11th and wasted little time getting to the front of the field to set up an extended battle with Knight throughout the 50-lap race. Knight earned runner-up honors, with Jay’s Dave Farrington, Jr. third under the checkered flag after leading the opening laps in the event.

(Oxford, ME) – Sometimes in a racers career, satisfaction comes with just being able to get into a race such as the prestigious HP Hood Oxford 250, for a racer such as Derek Griffith; qualifying for his first Oxford 250 was bittersweet.
Griffith, the 19-year-old Hudson, NH native was able to qualify for the main event through a Consolation race win. Griffith would roll-off in the 25th starting position. A lap-7 incident directly ahead of Griffith in turn three and four caused the driver of the No. 12 Hitman Industires/Provencher Insurance Toyota Camry to have to veer off of turn four; making contact with the front stretch wall.
“The lap 7 incident was caused by impatient people, it’s a shame. We had a very fast car all weekend long. The crew busted their tails and our expectations were being able to compete for a podium finish, I mean we know it was our first [Oxford] 250 but we can drive with these guys.” Says Griffith. (more…)

Waterbury, VT – The American Racer Three Star program will continue in 2016. The program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance that had outstanding races at ACT US Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer Tire (value $125.00), but a special effort by a team, exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or other accepted reason to give the award is used to decide the recipients.
The three stars are chosen by officials and winners will receive certificates for the use of a free American Racer tire at a future Tour race of their choosing during 2016.
The awarding of the stars does not allow for anybody in the top three to receive the recognition.

Second Place ACT Finish for Eddie MacDonald at Oxford Plains Speedway
For the fourth time this season Eddie MacDonald has posted a second place finish, this time in the American Canadian Tour’s Dave’s Small Engines/Ferris Mowers 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, August 27. The action was relentless from green flag to checkered flag as Eddie Mac battled eventual winner Scott Payea and Brad Babb for much of the race.
The Exit Realty/Hancock Electric Chevy posted fast times in the three brief practices and scored a plus two for his second place run in the heat after starting fifth. Eddie Mac started in the sixth position for the 100 lap feature as part of the Oxford 250 weekend. It did not take the Rowley, Mass veteran long to move into contention when the green flag waved over the 26 car field. The Freddie Peterson owned ride jumped to third place as a result of some heads-up driving by the veteran shoe.
