How “Sweet” It Is….Again

Oxford, ME – Nick Sweet slipped past early leader Corey Bubar near the midpoint of the of the Coastal Auto Parts Pro All Stars Series (PASS) 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) Sunday afternoon. The win is the fifth career triumph for the Barre, Vermont driver and the second in three races of the PASS Tour in 2020. Center Conway, NH driver DJ Shaw came home in the runner up spot while Travis Benjamin rounded out victory lane in a carbon copy top three finish of the opening PASS race earlier in the month. Sunday’s race at OPS was held without fans but was broadcast by NSNsports out of Vermont.

Helliwell Takes Advantage of Late Tangle for Oxford Win

Oxford, ME — Dover, NH’s Wayne Helliwell Jr. took full advantage of a late incident involving then-leader Joey Polewarczyk to snag the victory American-Canadian Tour (ACT) victory in the Oxford 150 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Sunday, June 28. It was the 13th career point-counting ACT win for the three-time champion and continued his strong start after a runner-up in the season opener.

Helliwell was inside Hudson, NH’s Polewarczyk for the lead with seven laps to go as both were attempting to get around defending ACT Champion Rich Dubeau, who was fighting to stay on the lead lap while running in the sixth spot. With Polewarczyk going to the outside entering turn three and Helliwell looking inside, Dubeau lost grip and slid up the track into the leader.

ACT Rolls into Oxford This Sunday for Next Bout of 2020

Waterbury, VT — The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) heads to the great state of Maine this Sunday, June 28 for the Oxford 150. The event at Oxford Plains Speedway is part of a Twin 150’s doubleheader with the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) as both get into the rhythm of their 2020 seasons with worldwide coverage on Northeast Sports Network.

While the ACT Late Model Tour’s first visit to Oxford this year comes more than two months after the originally scheduled date, teams are happy to be making the trip. With 33 prior events at the legendary 3/8-mile speedway, the track is an important part of series history, and three scheduled treks in 2020 will only add to the track’s rich history for ACT standouts such as Jimmy Hebert, Joey Polewarczyk Jr., Rich Dubeau, and Bryan Kruczek.

ACT Season Opener at Oxford Postponed

Waterbury, VT – American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have announced the postponement of the ACT Oxford 150 that was scheduled for Sunday, April 26 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway. No make-up date has been set at this time.

The Oxford 150 had been slated to open the ACT Late Model Tour and Pro All Star Series (PASS) North seasons. However, a Stay-at-Home order remains in effect for the state of Maine through at least April 30 due to the COVID-19 outbreak, forcing the event’s delay.

As with the also-postponed Community Bank N.A. 150 at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road, ACT officials will wait to reschedule the Oxford event until a clearer picture has emerged about when the 2020 season can begin in earnest. In the meantime, ACT will continue to take guidance on the situation from various state officials and health experts.

Twelfth Place Finish for Eddie MacDonald at Oxford

Eddie MacDonald struggled with a loose handling car to post a 12th place finish in the 150 lap PASS race at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, October 19. Adding to the problem was the over aggressive push from a competitor during the heat race.

During the first two of four fifteen minute practices, Eddie Mac’s EXIT Realty/Hancock Electric/Grimm Construction Chevy performed well on the old practice tires from the Oxford 250 but the handling and speed disappeared when the new Hoosier tires were bolted on the Freddie Peterson owned ride.
