Joey Doiron Racing For First PASS North Championship This Weekend at Oxford Plains

driver_jdBerwick, ME – Going into the final race of his best season since joining the Pro All Stars Series North in 2010, Joey Doiron is feeling confident racing for his first championship.  In a season that started out with Doiron battling Cassius Clark for the win at Oxford Plains Speedway, it would seem fitting that those two are the front runners leading into the final race of the season at the same track.

With his two wins, eight top fives and a series leading ten top ten finishes, Doiron has certainly had a season to remember.  He has lead the point’s standings since the seasons second race until being surpassed by Clark by just three points in the last race at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.  With two runner up finishes in the season opening race at Oxford Plains and in the TD Bank 250, Doiron is confident his team can perform well enough to grab the championship this weekend.

PASS North And PASS Mods Championship Fights To Be Settled At Oxford Plains

PASS NorthNAPLES, ME (September 24) – After a hard fought season battling fellow competitors and pesky weather, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) will crown its first champions of the year this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine. It will be the final weekend of racing for New England’s premier short trackers as the championships will be decided for the PASS North Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds and PASS Sportsman. The points are extremely tight heading to Oxford, particularly in the Super Late Model and Modified divisions.

The PASS North Super Late Model championship is down to three drivers realistically, points leader Cassius Clark, Joey Doiron, and DJ Shaw. Defending PASS North champion and 2013 TD Bank 250 winner Travis Benjamin sits fourth in points, still with a mathematical shot at another championship as well.

Welch Wins Final Canaan Race, Crazy Horse Cars Fast At NHMS

SOUTH PARIS, Maine – Don Wentworth of Otisfield, Maine, is a veteran stock car driver who won’t quibble with one inevitable truth in short-track racing: It’s better to finish strong than it is to sputter to the finish line and spend all winter trying to figure out what went wrong.

Wentworth made sure he put a solid capper on the 2013 season at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, posting a pair of podium finishes in the final two events of the inaugural Pro Late Model season at the track. Wentworth won the 40-lap feature at Oxford on August 30.

Ryan Robbins Sets Sights On Title At Oxford Plains

Sophomore Street Stock Driver Looks To Go Out On Top

SOUTH PARIS, Maine – Two weeks ago, Ryan Robbins won his first feature event of the season. On Sunday afternoon, the sophomore driver from Dixfield hopes to lock up the first Street Stock division championship of his career.

Robbins, 28, has a 17-point lead heading into the final race of the season at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. Racing begins at 2 p.m.

“It’s funny, because I’m a pretty low-key person, even when it comes to the racing,” Robbins said. “We go to the track, we race, we come home. I try not to get all worked up about it. Even when we win, you just try to think about the next week. But when it gets to this point, you get pretty excited about it. We could go out on Sunday and win this championship.
