OXFORD, Maine – Apparently Travis Adams' rivals in the Oxford Networks Late Model division at Oxford Plains Speedway won't be able to count on lack of sleep as an impediment to his dominance.
Five days after becoming a father for the second time, Adams drove the rest of the field to school in Saturday night's 40-lap main event. He took the lead three laps shy of the halfway point and cruised to a win of more than five seconds over Carey Martin.

second-time fatherhood next on schedule
OXFORD, Maine – Travis Adams got the jump on Ricky Rolfe in the outside lane on a restart with 14 laps to go and held on to win the Oxford Networks Late Model season-opener Saturday on Double T Fence Night at Oxford Plains Speedway.
A seven-time feature winner on the way to his third championship in five seasons last summer, Adams recovered from a broken timing chain that took him out of the New England Dodge Dealers ACT 150 just five laps into the touring event on his home track two weeks ago.
Adams told the crowd that he hopes he will be back to try for his second straight 40-lap win next Saturday, but that his 2008 racing season will fall no higher than second on his list of priorities. His wife, Becky, is scheduled to give birth to the couple's second child by

OXFORD, Maine – It looked so easy for so long, until a fellow champion crashed Ricky Rolfe's party.
Rolfe dominated the early stages of Saturday's New England Dodge Dealers American-Canadian Tour 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway, but the two-time OPS champion was forced to withstand a late challenge from seven-time ACT king Jean-Paul Cyr to win a touring event at his home track for the first time since 2002.

Daytona 500, Brickyard 400 champion Kevin Harvick
enters TD Banknorth 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway
OXFORD, Maine – Kevin Harvick is stock car racing’s equivalent of a big-game quarterback. Consider the 2007 season, when Harvick swept the season-opening Daytona 500 and Orbitz 300 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. Three months later, with another million-dollar jackpot sitting on the table, Harvick scored his first-ever victory in the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge at Lowe’s (N.C.) OXFORD, Maine – Travis Adams boasts back-to-back Oxford Networks Late Model championships and three of the last five titles at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Dufault overcomes late-season gremlins
to win Runnin' Rebel Summer Showdown
OXFORD, Maine – The Acceleration Series regular season started with promise and ended in a nightmare for Matt Dufault, with mechanical failures knocking him out of the final two Macdonald Motors Runnin' Rebel events and out of a top 15 trophy position for the full-season sweepstakes.
Dufault's bad luck lingered into practice Saturday afternoon prior to the annual Acceleration Series Showdown. He shook the bug just in time, though.
After his day nearly ended in a practice crash, Dufault drove around David Childs with seven laps remaining to capture the four-cylinder, open-competition event and a $500 payday.
